Some friends wanted to try Legacy; Steel & Sorcery so I say ok.
Immediately blown away their introduction.
And yes they have a roadmap of items they want to accomplish in the near future without dates. Imagine.
Anyways, kudos to them. I just found it amusing to finally have an excellent example to point out.

That is actually amazing. And it clears up misconceptions the player may have had about EA right off the bat. Love it.

Looks like that game is basically done except a few zones, some classes and character customization, and some events.
The thing about EA is that games are all in different states upon release to EA, and we never know which it is.
Oh you mean you views the road map/what’s done and we’re able to make a quick observation about the current status of the game?
It’s almost like that’s the whole point.
All games come in different sizes, sure. But acting like something similar wouldn’t work for wicked when you we able to make a quick observation and response proves the point this kind of information is valuable to consumers.
I think the larger elefant in the room, or looking storm over Wicked is in fact the reason this can’t be made for Wicked is that Moon doesn’t know that the final product looks like… This has been my concern from day one.
The optimistic side of this is you have a studio branching out from something they were successful at to a new genre, taking aspects of games they liked and molding it into something new on top of fresh ideas. A studio not knowing what the final product looks like because they’re open to change sounds beautiful.
I have all the faith in the world that Moon with no limit to funding could create a spectacular ARPG. Their map design, art, and story telling are of the highest caliber.
However, since the studio is a business, with employees, etc every day in production cost them. Therefore as beautiful a concept of an evolving game in EA could be to some consumers it’s not always financially feasible.
I love the concept of what Moon is shooting for but feel the scope of Wicked constantly rewriting itself is costing them. The easiest target to miss is one that is not defined.
Providing clear goals to the community you hope to gain. Momentum works both ways, if they want to build on it communication is the backbone.
I’m not saying they shouldn’t do that. Just saying that the game looks about finished from that roadmap. It makes me wonder why they didn’t just complete the game and release.
Just looked at that game and see it’s an extraction game by the reviews? It’d be cool if this game had a mode like that, which fed into the regular game maybe. From the trailers I can tell by the animations and VFX they don’t have the talent Moon studios does, but cool concept.
Couldn’t say. Could be they have more they want to add and are just focusing on the core elements for now, but who knows.
