100% agree. Facet tool tips should be accessible in any view.
I’m a big fan of the addition of Facets. I loved the randomized armor/weapon stats for damage and stamina from waaaaay back in the early stages of EA. I was bummed when everything got flattened into consistent stats, so it’s nice that Facets are adding diversity back into weaponry, but we need the tool tips to know what they mean.
Really? I completely disagree with you. I hate randomness in gear stats as well as in enchanting gear.
Initially, these stats couldn’t be changed, and finding good gear took too much time. Farming money to spam buy or enchant dozens of items of the same type just to hope for a perfect item is extremely frustrating. The developers addressed this by exalted or rerolling them. They also made infusing gems provide quite good effects and kind of balance with enchanting. That’s pretty great; I also don’t think it’s necessary for the initial weapon stats to be exactly the same because I can still exalt them later.
But with this update, featuring this stupid facet system where items facet can’t be changed, randomness has returned. I am currently spam crafting items just to get the desired facet. I like the ability to remove enchantments or transfer them, but new items needed to do that is quite rare. Infusing gems also change and making infusing unenchanted items worst. I mean, players can complete the game without the best gears, but for me, who enjoy collecting equipment and creating multiple characters to try different playstyles like me, this is extremely boring.
I don’t understand why they are bringing back a problem that has already been solved. Are they obsessed with creating unique equipment so that players can trade and sell them later? If so, it’s really disappointing because I don’t care about multiplayer or trading.
Definitely get your POV here. I personally fall on the side of the OP–farming a tool with the correct facet doesn’t bother me because everything else about the gear is editable.
That said, there are posts about the odds of a facet appearing on a crafted item being too low, and in my opinion that feels like the compromise that we need on the topic at hand:
