At the moment I only play with daggers and only with this (image) I have a big problem. When the enemy is marked it’s very dificult to hit it, and if the enemy has a shield always block the atack. The problem is not all the daggers, only these.
Example: the heavy enemy who cahrge whit the shield and then stands still, if I atack when it is still he insta block the atack.
The image is in spanish, I think the name in english maybe is “Rogues tangles”
I don’t know if it’s a bug but it’s impossible to play with this.
I used to play with daggers, they’re quite powerfull, mostly because you can easily stagger ennemies du to high attack speed.
On the other hand, they are quite hard to use, you have a really small range, your attack can be block quite easily and damages aren’t really high.
Daggers are in my top 3 most difficult weapons to play and I can understand how you’re feeling right now, not really knowing if they worth it or not.
I should answer you : give it a try, learn, learn, learn, and learn again how they how, how you can made them powerfull and they’ll reward you beyond your expectations (small help : try healing per hit + general speed + stamina per hit, you’ll thanks me later )
That’s why I offered him a little hint on how to use daggers.
You’ll allways face enemies that are easier or harder depending on what weapon you use.
For exemple, using greatsword you do more damages and have a better range, but you attack very slowly, daggers are ambidextrous weapons, mostly based on Dexterity stat so that’s completly normal that he’s struggling against shield wielding enemies , moreover the one with the spear and the greatshield, they have strong defense and a really great range of attack.
If you learn how to properly use daggers, you’ll defeat every enmies like they’ve never existed
I’ve played a bit more than 20h and I’ve only used daggers, I know how to use them and I like the difficulty they give me a lot, the only thing is that if I use these, which I found now, it’s impossible to play with them. I can use the old ones that have half damage 7 and I have no problems, even if it takes me 30 min to kill a boss because I do very little damage.
Should have read properly. That’s the enemy I thought they meant, not shield enemies in general. Not that they’re difficult, it’s just annoying to see a chance to light attack but realize it’s a fake. Intentional or not.
well, there it’s like every weapons in the game, you havr advantages and drawbacks, but I feel you there, those ones were not the one I especialy love to use, but they can still be effective, you just need to find the one that suits your playstyle. To me for exemple, I prefere those one grey, with the multistrike rune attack, heal, focus and stamina per hit
there on the one you show, I think the blue enchant affixes aren’t suited for that kind of weapons
I used these same daggers on my first play through. Actually using a white pair with 4 runes. Blink + Dashing Stab, 4th rune doesn’t really matter.
Dual Slash: Use this as a gap closer, at max level this one shots a lot of the smaller enemies and on the bigger ones follow up with 3 basic attacks. They’re dead before even getting a swing off.
Blink: On shield enemies wait for them to do an attack and blink somewhat to the side of them. Then run up behind them an executed them. If you miss the execute you get only 1 attack in before they block you.
Dashing Stab: On the two larger enemies (The one that Hammer Slams and the final one that drops down in the one crucible room) Just wait for them to attack, blink behind them, then spam Dashing Stab or 1 cast + basics.
Echo Knight: If you get his back against the wall you can just spam Dashing Stab and win.
Early on before you have high damage, you can Dual Slash into the target and Blink Backwards out to safety. Rinse and Repeat.
I’m using all white items with gems infused into the slots, expect the gloves which are enchanted. No points into focus but using the 2 focus rings to maintain focus during the Dashing Stab spam.
Stock up on focus potions and use them if you are out of focus.
Lastly the first 2 hits of the basic attack are VERY weak but the 3 one hits hard. So if you are using the basic you need to make it through the chain and not just do 1-2 quick hits.
I don’t know if I’m making myself clear or if you don’t read the messages properly. It’s not a problem with all the daggers, I’ve used other daggers and I know how to play without them touching me and I’ve killed bosses with them. The problem is only with these daggers, the ones in the image.
Considering everyone in this thread has been kindly offering advice on how to approach the targets. Clearly nobody knows what your talking about. Make a video to show what you are talking about, instead of attacking people who were kind enough to help. If nobody in the thread knows what you are talking about, neither do the devs.
