Co-Op Features and FUN Teamplay

Here are some ideas for the coop experience and how to encourage dynamic teamplay.

Possible Coop Features

  • The ability to revive each other (either through runes or landing a hand)
    • Possibly the ability to save each other from deadly falls (hanging on the cliff, instead of plummeting to death)
  • The ability to teleport to other players
  • The abiltiy to place markers around the world, or share them on the map
  • The ability to prepare and place large meals, that serve as return points in an area and a “healthfountain” in boss battles
  • And of course Voicechat and Crossplay

Make Teamplay dynamic, Enable diverse Roles

  • Goals:
    • Roles should remain flexible, through choice of runes and gear
    • Roles should enable distinctly different playstyles and “mini goals”
    • Roles should fill niches and synergize with each other
    • Roles should be somewhat unique and not easy to implement into any playstyle
  • Possible Roles
    • Soft or hard CC, Heal, Marking, Buffing, Zoning, Tanking/Binding, Flanking, consistent/ramping DPS, Disruption, Shielding, Diversion, Bruiser/Breaker, Softener/Weakener
  • Ways to make Roles unique
    • Bind Functionality to Gear, not just Runes
    • Combine Functionality with drawbacks to encourage Focus (e.g. less damage taken, less damage dealt)
    • Make Abilities active rather than passive (e.g. active short term boosts, rather than longterm buffs)
    • Give ways to invest into utility over damage through attributes (love equipload, focus and health for that purpose, but even more options should be nice)
      • Think about new abilities with teamplay in mind:
        • Does this add something unique to a teamcomposition?
        • Does this help another role to succeed?
        • If not: Could/Should it?
