I love this game! The atmosphere, the sound design, it’s beautiful. I enjoyed every area in early access, the dialogue, owning a house, working to rebuild the city.
The only thing that put me off is Cerim Crucible. I enjoyed it very much and I like the fights there. The thing is, even if I want to practice the dungeons and boss, I first need to collect fallen embers. Which means that I have to farm and cannot actually git gud.
I know it’s optional and an endgame quest, but I like the boss fight a lot and I just cannot practice its moveset for long before I die. Then I need to go find embers again.
Thus I propose that fallen embers be used for something else!
This is a thread I made on a similar topic. Posting for visibility. I agree, crucible could be made a lot more fun by allowing quicker or more engaging access to the boss fight.
Maybe the crucible can have a sort of gamble feature where you can risk a certain amount of embers upon entering, and the more you offer the more you receive if you succeed
Yep, I agree, maybe they could make fallen embers drop more, maybe not require them at all. As of now I’m doing two or three tries per day, I just cannot find them and I open every chest. It has become a chore. Maybe I’ll put it down for the time being and wait till the full release. It’s a shame and I really like this game.
I hope it’ll not be that hard to obtain them. I played for four hours today to aquire only three in the entire map and one from the vendor. And of course I couldn’t beat the knight, so back to square one I guess.
Damn, how much of bad luck can someone have? I just recently did a new char on a new realm and found 160(!) embers during that playthrough & collecting ressources to fully upgrade the town.
I find doing farm runs can help to restock on embers (Glades, trench and nameless). Focusing mainly on chests and digging but also whatever else you might need. Chests definitely seem to net the most embers, I got 5 in one large chest once.
