well i come from a hardware point of view, as i worked in HPC for almost 10 years. And i can also tell you, that i have a old 1080 GPU and i play on 4k without major stutters.
yes this game has more frame drops than others, but it is in its early stages. and a mindful and well optimized hardware setup can help last you for years without the need to upgrade. there is a reason why mainboards have 4 DIMM slots 
from my experience it is one of the most common hardware setup “mistakes”. when u truly want to optimize your rig, you should use all memory lanes.
