What this is trying to solve :
Currently, which armor I’m going for depends on 2 things. Visual and weight class. As long as I like the visual and the weight keep me in the correct range, it doesn’t really matter which armor I will consider. Then it’s enchanting roulette. I just wish every piece of gear had a little something that makes it unique and possibly a better fit for a possible build. I would love to be able to farm for a specific set, either by killing specific enemies to get their gear as drops.
Armor :
- Set Bonus : I think most armor should have a set bonus depending on how many piece of the set you wear. The bonus should not be game breaking. But maybe something unique that is linked to the visual and lore of the armor.
- Individual perk : Then I would use the visual, lore and set bonus of the set as a template for a specific build. Each piece of armor could have it’s own perk to complement the build. Think Monster Hunter that have a specific perk on each piece of a set that is tailor-made for a specific playstyle. Again, nothing too game breaking even with a full set.
- The final peace of the puzzle here is transmog. Either for free or for a price.
Weapons:
- Unique weapon perk : Every weapon should have something that makes it unique. Even a common low level weapon. I believe some are already in place but maybe make it more clear. Those are examples but it could be anything really :
- Wooden sword : additional damage when infused with fire.
- Wands : Each different wands should probably have either an elemental affinity or poison, or affinity for aoe or single target, ect.
- Small curved sword : Life-steal
- Big curved sword : Bleed
- Dagger : Big backstab bonus
- Double dagger : Speed bonus
- ect.
The number of gem/enchantement slots could vary in some weapon types. Again, those are just examples but the game as so many systems and weapon types that there’s a lot of options here.
Then the unique/legendary weapons could have super build specific perk that you have to focus you’re entire build around them.
