I’m having an incredibly hard time with this boss and I’m hoping someone might be able to provide some insight into a fix for the issue or start to get past this. I’ve got the pestilence boss in the shallows, through the trapdoor in the tower and the room is pitch black. I’m rocking a torch to help me see, but the boss spams his AOE pools and in the dark, I cant see them so I’m taking damage I cant properly plan around because I cant see it - plus the pools seems to slow your movement while you’re in them so I also usually get clipped by his very heavy melee attacks.
I’m not normally one to complain, but honestly this fight feels like it’s not going to be my skill that gets me through it, but rather just a lucky run which is frustrating that I cant really out skill this fight. I also cant abandon the fight and get the pestilence to move to another zone until I beat this boss by the looks of things so until I can do what has thus far been frustratingly impossible for me I’m locked out of one of the major endgame activities.
There is a light rune costing 25 focus that you can buy at enchantress - slot it in any weapons you use (whether actively or in what you use as an utility stick).
E.g. my utility stick has: channel, repair, light and return.
Yeah, this boss isn’t enjoyable. Idk if it’s just the fact that I made him spawn in the shallows or what, but he can cover basically the entire arena with plague, and it’s super dark. Even with a torch equipped. I’m not having any fun fighting him.
It doesn’t help that he can kill me in one combo while I’m knocked to the floor on the first hit.
When people say he’s covering the entire arena in plague in a Pestilence context in the shallows, that’s a red flag.
It just screams a bad or underpowered build.
Because at the point you get to the Pestilence a single rune attack could be doing 1/4 to 2/3 of his health per rune attack cast depending on your gear and loadout.
I just can’t believe someone at lv25+ is doing so little damage that the boss is able to cover the arena before you can kill.
Hell, even if your damage is bad, all you need to stop the plague cast sequence is use one of the frost infusion vial consumables the game floods you with, that you can also buy from the merchants and both Marin and Sacrament alchemist npc’ as well. You’ll constantly freeze the boss solid.
