End game issue. Plague boss spawning in terrible location

My plague boss spawned in a tiny underground pitch black dungeon which I genuinely just don’t want to participate in.

It looks like I just simply cant progress unless I do that though?

There should be a way to reset the plague and have it spawn somewhere else. Also don’t let the boss spawn inside a tiny pitch black room. I cannot see the poison he’s putting on the ground at all or anything that’s happening in general.

You can clear the plague through the vendor in the Crucible.

Didn’t know that sir, thank you. Think the feedback is still somewhat relevant. Should probably make it more obvious for idiots like me.

Should probably have the plague just naturally move if the person hasn’t interacted with it in a day or some time period also. I was hoping it would’ve moved after not playing for a day but it didn’t.

I think they did that on purpose, kind of troll. I had fight that fight having speced for gauntlets. No light.

There is a rune that gives you a long duration light that I always keep on a off-set weapon. So you can swap weapon, cast the rune and swap back and be fine for I think 3? minutes. Which is enough for a boss fight

You can flame enchant your weapons and that will make them not only do fire damage but also act like a torch.

I did this with my greatsword because its two handed and I cannot wield a torch while fighting with it.

This fight is definitely harder due to the environment, but I don’t think this is a pestilence issue. This is supposed to be the most challenging content in the game. Here are some tips that have helped me in the two arenas that pose environmental challenges:

  • Go in ready for the fight by having some focus and the illuminate buff on. The rune is sold by the enchantress and provides two minutes of light source, which is enough for a boss fight.
  • Stick close to them , at least when they are doing the plague puddle attack. When they start making plague puddles they stop if you are in close actually hitting them.
  • Learn the distinction between making plague puddle and doing the big AOE earth attack, which you should not be close for
  • Use the island in the middle to help with movement and avoiding attacks (unsure about what it can help avoid as I’ve only completed this fight twice)

The Marin Woods arena is also flooded and can be annoying to fight in. This may be considered cheese, but it helped control the fight better and add significant damage. Use the stairs and leap off them to do a slam attack, repeat as mobility is constrained, but fast on the stairs. There are other areas where there isn’t water, so try to keep the fights to those spots.

Yes, I know you can.

But you also have to admit that designing caves and boss battles in the dark without giving 2H weapons have a source of light other than flame oil or runes is a poor choice.

I’m using claws and not an issue. There is a tool for us, it’s the illuminate rune. The only actual weapon that benefits from torch is one handed, no shield, which they are sacrificing defense and less damage to run.

What I wouldn’t mind seeing is an accessory item you can equip that gives a small boon. A lantern could go in that slot, but you’d have to make choices among other accessories that help with environmental challenges. Maybe water shoes could be one to reduce the movement effects of water.

I was actually referring to gems, as you can perma enchant your weapons to act as torches/deal flame damage, or even just roll affixes that perma enchant your weapons to act as torches/deal flame damage. I find it pretty convenient personally.

I can definitely still see it being a pain to fight even with a source of light though since it can be limited.

I would also love the lantern option, while I do like the current options, before I found out about them I was really wanting a lantern and I still think the more options you have the better.
