is there way to farm weapon shards ? or its the only way to run through the areas and loot all chests you can find?

Yes, only like that, from chests. Sometimes they also appear at the merchant’s.

weren’t they also available as bounty/challenge rewards? honestly i did not pay much attention to that since the breach, but i am pretty sure they were before.
also i have so many i doubt i can ever use them all. but thats because i create new chars and realms instead of only using 1 and respec-ing for everything new i want to try.
i recommend having a main realm, where everything is unlocked, then create new realms for new chars. if u miss resources or gear, go to main real quick, get what u need, store whet u don’t need, rinse repeat.
Edit: also more targeted farming was announced, so it might solve itself anyways
