Ways to support the game?

For those who really want to support the game, what options are there - other than leaving a positive review or gifting the game to a friend? Honestly, I wish Moon would offer some kind of supporter packs that we could buy. Being totally in love with the game´s art, I for one would totally spend some money on cosmetics (new hairstyles and face skins), armor set patterns or even a real world art book, for example.

I would like to know this as well. Personally, I would like to support the game till we reach the 1.0 version. I’m madly in love with everything this game is and is going for and waiting for full release is driving me crazy

It’s already been said supporter packs will not be done.

People hate FOMO and all it would bring them is grief from even more negative reviews on Steam complaining about exclusive, more expensive packs.

Price fluctuations are even more of a problem in Asian markets. Thomas remarked in discord that when they did a sale recently, Chinese players review bombed them because they felt betrayed by the change in price.

I will say though, it’s important that Moon announce sales on Steam ahead of time and early. With this latest Breach release, their sale did not even go announced and live until like 30 minutes after the patch went online. A lot of people had to then submit a ticket with Steam support to refund as they had bought the game in expectation of the Breach release, in order to rebuy it after the refund with the sale.

I’m not talking about exclusive packs or any rewards system for supporting the game, just supporting it for faster and smoother development. I would be willing to support it on a monthly basis

I’d be up for that as well.

Unfortunately, subscriptions and kickstarters bring with them legal headaches and entitlements of their own.

For example, Sabotage Studios with Sea of Stars was partially funded by Kickstarter (they raised like 1.2 million, still a tiny portion of the development budget).

Gamers got their Kickstarter game and frebies, but some still harassed and got pissed at developers when the game was then put on Gamepass and released on Steam, asking why other people had equal access to a game they had funded.

So any steps developers take is going to have to be thought out and deliberate because what might seem trivial to you to support them really isn’t, because many gamers are absolutely petty.

Envy is a very powerful force.

I know there are many things unconsidered by me when it comes to talking about this subject, to me it is pretty simple - supporting developers doesn’t mean you expect anything in return except finished product, in the end. Even if that doesn’t happen for some unforeseen reason, you should be aware of that and accept it.
