The saved game I was playing is not loading in regular and beta. I was reading that this can be caused by updates. Should I wait to start a new game when the new update is out in January?

My world and characters disappeared after the co-op beta ended. Can I recover them?
This may sound trite, but could you try to restart steam, and see if that works?

Did you create your character/Realm in the Experimental branch (beta)?

Will the saves/characters/realms made in de experimental build (and the current build for that matter) during the beta be accessible after the new release on the 22nd or de we start fresh?
If everything goes okay, then yes 
No hard guarantee so far on this, Moon is still deliberating on this.
You will have to bridge gap from now till the 22nd if you only created characters/Realms in the beta!
