Well, that’s interesting..

Just did some tests with great sword and I don’t think auto attack damage and lifesteal are working correctly at all.

My attack was doing 194 dmg.
The enemy was hitting me for 13 dmg.
Lifesteal barely healed the same amount (13 dmg).

I have 10% lifesteal (weapon), which should’ve healed for 19.
*This alone says something is wrong.

However, I also have 40% Heal on my gear (enchants).
Plus another 45% Healing bonus from Gems (all 4 pieces).

The healing amount should’ve been between 35 - 39.
*Depending on how healing perks stack together.

are we sure that lifesteal scales with dmg dealt or its same as regular healing effect which scales with max health? cuz as I understand all healing things in the game (including on-hit/lifesteal) scales with max health.

Ah, not sure..

Stats: 10% Lifesteal and 350HP.
*Even ignoring the healing bonuses on my gear, this method should’ve yielded a 35pt heal.

So I’m guessing it’s based on dmg dealt rather than HP.


Regardless.. I has poked the bear!
*Let us see if he responds..

yah this seems bizarre it doesnt fit any possibilities in-terms of healing

Indeed, it’s a bit strange..
*Explains why the “Wolverine” build that was going around felt a bit off.

Here is the follow up. This time showing the numbers instead of aligning health bars. That should should settle it at least in the case of rune damage.

There are some healing effects that correspond to your max health but lifesteal should correspond to the damage dealt.

Interesting discovery/highlight by a user on Reddit ( sirDiesAlot25 ).
*There’s a “co-efficient” tied to lifesteal.

I found the patch note in question:


Based off of this, lets look at my previous example:
10% Lifesteal from a 194 DMG attack should yield 19pt heal instead of 12-13.

Now apply the “co-efficient” math:
194 dmg * 10% = 19.4 * 30% = 5.82 (40% + 45%) = 10.7 - 11.8

So a 10-12 pt heal from 194 dmg (depending on how the gear healing and gen healing modifiers stack).

This does seem to solve one of the problems we’ve been discussing with lifesteal.

now its all make sense which I don’t complain tbh cuz’ lifesteal or life gain buffs should not be that good so you can fight without any concern imo
