Hah, indeed!.. and he’s got like 30 Realms advanced to help farm Finley and a T3 Grinnich.

What the heck is hoping to get from Finley anyway? When I heard that first, I thought he was exaggerating but I guess he really has 30 realms going … absolutely unnecessary.

It’s a good way to get rare recipes/blue prints if you don’t want to or aren’t having any luck farming the Crucible/Outbreaks.

Honestly, I started setting up more realms just to have access to the shops for Fallen Embers.

*Each realm gives you two shots (Finley / Grinnich) a day to get a few.

So even with just 10x realms, you can get 20-30+ Fallen Embers for a fraction of the time it would take to grind for’em.

I have 3 realms and I have found every recipe in the game … maybe I’ve been lucky. Maybe he did it to get them asap and make content lol

30 realms is absolutely crazy.

Oh I agree.. 30 is nuts, but I can understand where he’s coming from.

I have no idea if I have every recipe in the game but it feels like I’m still missing quite a few. (do you know of or have a link to a “collection” I can use as reference?)

On the topic of luck tho.. to my knowledge, despite everything Larry has, the one thing that’s never dropped for him is the RoD.

Which is funny because he makes “build guides”..

So while he’s automatically limited by not having the most useful “end game” item in the game.. his builds are more beginner/intermediate friendly.

he clearly has more time than luck!!! ahaha
but honestly, I wouldn’t bother even if I had the time…
cuz as it is, I have more time than patience… XD

Ya, though.. since I already do “new realm farming”.. might as well just keep it around, toss some mats to upgrade Grinnich and spend a few minutes to rescue Finley.

Do that once or twice a day.. and before long, you’ll have dozens of Realms that give you practically “unlimited” embers (more than you could possibly need).

That said, the thing that kinda bugs me about spending time setting up all my realms for farming, is that we don’t know if the next patch will trivialize all the hard work.

IE: They introduce a new mechanic for rerolling gear, that isn’t Embers, while also adding new perks to gear and/or revamping it entirely, along with the class change.

Further, there’s the potential for “we changed so much, you previous save file is now [Legacy].”

well, is early access… so you should be psychologically prepared for that, even if is not guaranteed either way…
anyways, as long as you are having fun…
for me personally, I do not put more effort than I take out in enjoyment, even if the game were officially released… I apply the same philosophy for all games I play… keeps me sane XD

Maybe if spent his time running crucible instead of making 30 advanced realms, he would have had an RoD. I have 15 of them and discarded as many in past few days.

Perhaps his doing it for the daily quests?

I doubt he doesn’t actually have one. I like him, he’s a good guy. He was one of the few people that actually bothered making build guides back in the early days of the EA release.

Fair enough, for me tho.. I get absorbed into the idea of setting up and streamlining pipelines.

The sheer amount of time I’ve wasted on games like Starbound, Palworld, Wakfu or even CotL and Almighty is just silly.

Ah, I’ll make sure to bookmark it, thanks!

Ya.. I didn’t even think about the daily quests.
*Though I haven’t had much luck with those and they’re usually a waste of time.

OK, finally got it.

I think he’s wrong and +Healing does affect lifesteal.

Interesting..

Had to watch your vid a few times to make sure no crits or buffs were in effect, changing the damage (both attacks did 954 DMG).

That said, there are two things that come to mind that could be affecting the outcome.

  1. The armor set he had Lifesteal on was bugged.
  2. He was trying to lifesteal using physical damage from his gauntlets, while you used fire damage from a rune.

It might be worth testing if the lifesteal from the gem is only affected by rune dmg.

Do you have a link to his video testing it?

It’s always easier to test this with larger numbers, that’s why I chose a rune attack. As far as I know, there is no difference between lifesteal from spells and auto-attacks.

I can try to test that too, but that would only mean that there is bug with runes and +Healing still does increase lifesteal.

Ya, it’s the video linked in the opening post.

As for testing.. I’m not sure how we would even go about doing it.
*Would require a rune attack that does the exact same dmg as a physical one.

Perhaps test with a club or other 2 handed weapon?
*This is where MMO mods would usually come in handy.

I thought maybe he had an actual video showing his test.

I wonder if he tested it without having a bloodstone in his primary. Without seeing his test, it’s hard to tell.

But I’m confident that chipped black pearl is not the most useless gem in the game, to contrary, it’s probably one of the best.

I threw back on my “wolverine” build, which is built around lifesteal and dealing physical damage..

Honestly I think that’s the issue.
*The lifesteal from physical damage (at least via Auto Attack) doesn’t seem like it’s affected by healing bonuses from gems.

I’ll test out something “bigger” later tonight, if ya don’t beat me to it first. ;3

No, I’ll let you do it. Test with a heavier hitting weapon.

This is interesting.
