Suggestion: Housing – Great Foundation, Even More Potential

First of all: housing is already fun.

Decorating your own space, organizing loot, and slowly turning a house into your place feels rewarding and fits the game’s atmosphere really well. That said, a few additions and tweaks could make it truly exceptional.

Ideas & Feedback

1. Armor Display / Mannequins
It would be amazing to have mannequins or armor stands to display full armor sets.
Not just for storage, but for showcasing favorite builds, fashion sets, or memorable gear. This would add personality to housing and give collectors a real reason to decorate.

2. More Flexible Building & Placement Tools
Furniture placement can feel a bit restrictive at times. Some ideas that could help:

  • A build mode or placement mode

  • Free placement using mouse input (drag, rotate, fine-adjust)

  • For controller users: freecam placement or a toggleable precision mode

Anything that allows more control and creativity would make decorating much smoother and more enjoyable.

3. Storage Balance: Chest Size vs Capacity
Right now, 30-slot chests are the sweet spot.
The 40-slot chests don’t feel worth it, because for the space they take up, I can place two 30-slot chests and get more total storage with better room efficiency.

Suggestion:

  • Either increase the capacity of larger chests

  • Or reduce their physical size
So that bigger chests actually feel like an upgrade, not a downgrade in space efficiency.

4. Chest Labels / Naming
Being able to label or name chests would be a huge quality-of-life improvement.
Even simple text labels (or icons) would make organizing gear, crafting materials, and builds much cleaner and less time-consuming. (esp. in Coop)

5. Wall-Mounted Lighting (Torches & Sconces)
More wall-mounted light sources like torches, lanterns, or sconces would be fantastic.
They would save floor space, improve room lighting and fit the dark fantasy aesthetic perfectly. Especially useful in smaller houses or storage-heavy rooms.

6. Faster Weapon Testing: Practice Options Near Housing
It would be great to have a house closer to the practice area, so testing weapons and builds is quicker the ability to build a training dummy inside the house to test damage, animations, and timing. Having to travel just to test a weapon breaks the flow a bit — this would keep experimentation fast and fun.

All of these are small additions on their own, but together they would make housing feel even more practical, immersive, and player-friendly.

Overall, housing already feels like a strong system with a lot of soul. With a bit more flexibility and some quality-of-life tweaks. Thanks for building such a great foundation — excited to see where housing goes next.
