I believe adding a dedicated storage option under the building menu would greatly enhance the quality of life in the game. It would allow players to store miscellaneous items and unused gear in a proper place, helping keep their homes tidy and organized.
To build on that, it might be interesting to introduce a “comfort level” system for housing. Each home could have a base comfort cap depending on its quality or cost. Players could then furnish their homes with various items—such as tables, chairs, decorations—to raise the comfort level.
Higher comfort levels could then provide gameplay benefits. For instance, sleeping in a more comfortable and well-furnished home could grant stronger or longer-lasting buffs. This would not only make home-building feel more meaningful but also encourage creative interior design and progression.

Um…There are multiple houses. Why not just make the smaller building a warehouse and then deck your big one out with style? Also if you complete the crucible to midway you can buy a whisper connector for housing.
You could have stored so much more items if you used medium chests =)

I have to agree that raising the stack limit to 999 isn’t what will solve the chest spam.
What we need is for the chests to have significantly more storage slots, so we can use maybe 2-3 chests at most and they don’t take up so much space in the house. Let the medium and large chests even have tabs to go through different storage tabs.

also, why there are so many freaking variations for “consumables” storage, and so few for “anything goes” (LOL) chests???
“lore” wise (LMAO) sure, putting a 2h staff inside a cabby’s drawer sounds indeed silly… still… XD
that pic in particular made me thorned between “amazed” and “cringed” XD
but I find the ‘comfort level’ concept very interesting!!! would be also very fitting for multiplayer gameplay too
Child, not everything is essential, I only have 5 chests in my house, graciously arranged in the hallway to my bedroom (I bought the manor):
2 small ones are for crafting items, limit being now 99 for each is more than enough (although 999 is insane, the more the merrier)
3 mediums for rare and exalted rings, golden weapons and armor pieces
I don’t think you need so many chests, food items can be placed inside cabinets. I mean you can literally create a comfy house if you just don’t hoard like a red dragon lol
Agreed!
The large chest only gives 10+ more spaces, while taking up the room of two medium chests. So instead of getting 60x spaces, you only get 40x.
That said, there are a few chest improvements I’d like to see.
- Give large chests at least 2x “tabs” (pages) of 35x spaces each.
- Ability to “move” or pickup chests without their inventory dropping.
-OR- hear me out. GIVE US STORAGE UNITS.
