Suggestion: A New Control Mage Class With Wind Element

Currently we don’t have wind as an element in the game.

A mage class that uses wind and focuses mostly on damage mitigation and crowd control would be a great addition to the game in time for multiplayer content.

Wind could deal physical damage instead of adding a new status effect.
So we also have a way to do physical damage with runes even if the weapon is infused with an element: Let us chenge the Runes Elemental Damage + add “Pure” Physical Damage.

If you don’t already know about it, I recommend you try “Scream”.

It’s exactly the kind of CC you were talking about… except it doesn’t do any damage…
They definitely need to add more:
Scream pushes enemies away from you.
We need at least one rune that can push enemies toward you.
And one that sends enemies skyward, While they’re in the air, they can’t move, but you can’t hit them.

I’m always for new schools of magic in games!! Approved for me

I’m thinking Windwall, Gale, Tornado, Speed buffs … something more substantial than just the scream rune. An entire class you could build and play around, especially for PvP.

Maybe even a Rune for throwing/shooting rocks/rock-bullets with the help of Wind :+1:

I have alot of excess granite & salt-stone in my chest. May be taken with a pinch of salt. ^^

A wind mage could probably be the one who can spend almost any resource as a weapon just think how much DMG a flying wood log or bed could inflict if struck by it in a tornado

I agree, im saying that this 3:

Are the fundamentals for having a bit of CC

This does not exclude more interesting effects, such as throwing enemies onto each other to deal damage.

It makes sense as a concept but I don’t like having limited ammo, “alot of excess granite & salt-stone” is a problem caused by the fact that the devs added these resources without giving them good use.

Im not sure it is good idea to introduce more crowd control into the game, especially in form of a new “class” that sole purpose is control magic.

NRFTW is known for challenging combat, adding class with crowd control toolset would be impossible to balance. It is very easy way to trivialize combat and enemy’s special attacks. Some enemies have a very scary attacks, like a wolf can jump on you and bite you to the death, or this thing that is burrowed in ground can catch your legs and smash you to the death. It would be really sad if players got easy way out of those.

I don’t mind adding another element, but it should have different enough play style and mechanics and not trivialize combat.
