Also happening to me. Is there any fix without disabling Smart app control in windows, Only gripe i have is, if i disable it, i will need to reformat for it to be reenabled.

Try update window they release window defender almost daily this week.

If it did not work you can try running Signature update yourself on CMD

I found a temporary solution guys. Change your windows date to 01/01/2026, open the game and you can set your date back to automatic.
Had no issues prior to today. Then when I tried to start the game this popped up: “An application control policy has blocked this file." (0x11c7)” and It wont start. Supposedly its something to do with a license?
Tried verifying the files on steam, reinstalling etc. Still not working. I do not want to turn my windows security off to play a game. Devs need to make a hotfix for this asap.
i also keep getting this message. i played for 40 minutes earlier today, and when i went to get back on this message popped up for me.
After researching for three plus hours, it boils down to just don’t click on random shiz and everything will be fine. My pc replaced my ps5 and that’s all I use it for is gaming and watching YouTube. So I felt pretty comfortable turning off smart app controll
