Shields do not increase my character’s armor class. Any shield I put on has no effect on the value of the armor class listed just below the image of the character. Attached image shows shield and helmet both equipped but the armor class only reflects that of the helmet. If this is not a bug, then I apologize in advance.
Maybe this is intended and only adds armor and poise if you are actively blocking?

Yes, I also think you only get that amount of armor while blocking, would be too strong otherwise with how much armor is on shields.

I think it applies only when you’re blocking.
If the shield armour was always active i’d be close to 2000 armour and that is crazy amounts, I already take very little damage, 500+ more from a shield would be wild.

But you can’t use poise really if you are blocking so why do shields add it?
