Ok, this may be a little out there but a different angle.
With the enchantments. Purple items have a disadvantage right.
What about the concept of a % chance that you may vut your own limb off 
.
It would be dead frustrating, it also so entertaining.
You know so if you have a 2% chance to accidentally cut your own arm or leg off in combat. Which reduces movement or combat by 50%.
You may get unlucky and in two strike loose both arms. Or one arm and one leg… or both legs. …
Or if you do a special move you may even remove your own head!?!
This would, Ithink, not only be unique, but so frustrating and well basically very funny at the same time.
Just a passing thought of reflection tonight which tickled me.
