Scene brightness/lightning/shadows/rendering "flicks" instead of smoothly switch

Hi

there are many “mini-zones” (like going down stairs and up). Where lightning/shadows/shaders are not smoothly change but “flicks” instantly or switch in like 12 fps or blinks really fast. In some areas it’s higher issue in some it’s less, but some can impact player health in negative way. Mostly on HDR monitors - when screen blinks and is bright around 1000nits.

-Issue is most visible in high FPS and on high brightness and contrast (So on HDR) while on SDR is barely visible (some people told me it’s not visible on SDR monitors, some see it also on video), on poor monitors with low nits brightness will not be visible at all i think)

-It’s also considered as epylepsy trigger warning -accessibility issue. Players with eye-disabilities use high-contrast where it’s mostly visible.

-Can be related to 21:9 aspect ratio and changes to LOD/ shader/lightning systems or how game is “cut”. (maybe you guys forget to QA test 21:9 UW monitors during testing while changes was made)

set to 0:05 and look at barricade at left from player. Focus eyes on it - while seeing full scene. Mostly flicks on 0.06

next: 0:12 and pay attention around lantern at left

Those are most visible but there’s much, much more goin on around that is not noticeable, but can affect player health.

Please make QA session around HDR monitors and on second on 21:9 UW

There’s also another - but i believe connected issue.

focus on left then on inside tower. When it’s happening also lightning/shader inside the tower flicks and not changes smoothly.

Walking on bridge to that tower it “flicks” around 5-15 times and swaps “lightning” or whatever it’s doing.

cut from video - comparission between mili-second. (not a main issue but i think it cause it at all?)

and from first video. It will be not noticeable on low quality SDR screen i think. On poor quality screens from video uploaded to YT i tihnk it’s not that much noticeable. “fog” on character is much less visible on the NPC.

Thank you for the comprehensive exposition of this issue Purromi!

I am escalating this now.
