I’d like to invite you to share your opinion on the matter of item differentiation/customization.
What negatively struck me since Breach, was the change that:
- Weapon damage and Armor no longer initialize a value from an interval when spawned, instead will use a set value.
This means, that at any given time any type of weapon/armor drops at a set value.
I feel like this could be further improved by implementing 3 types of drops.
Lets assume a weapon with a value of 10. With the “variation” implemetation, the drop could be as follows:
- Low Quality - value between 6 to 9; lower durability.
- Normal Quality - value between 10 to 13; standard durability.
- Perfect Quality - set value of 15, durability enhanced by 20% of standard.
This means that a Magic/Cursed Weapon could drop with Low/Normal/Perfect Quality stats.
On the other hand Legendary Weapons would always drop with Perfect Quality.
This could be further tweaked with lower amount of gem slots, rune slots ect. All debatable depending on the balance.
As of now I feel like having items differ only with affixes limits the possibility of even greater customization. Therefore I was really surprised by the change.
Given recent hotfixes that implemented many improvements towards accesibility for less “skilled” players, I’d assume this change to be reverted/tweaked.
With the upcoming Coop/PvP, the trading community will explode with WTB/WTS channels, where everyone will want to min/max their dream build.
