Hi, I really like the game so far, and I am currently clocking around 100hours on NRFTW so far with 25hours on the breach update. But there are a few things that would really improve the quality of the game from the feedback I heard around me:
- Most affixes just aren’t fun right now, especially with how overly present the most boring ones are, like durability-based effects (healing or defense tied to durability) or low-focus conditionals (healing increase on low focus, damage received on low focus, etc.). The affix system actually felt better before the Breach update.
- More exciting affixes like “chance to inflict bleed,” “poison on hit,” “health regen,” or other procs would make gearing much more enjoyable.
- Negative affixes are way too extreme, with some making gear unusable (like -27% max HP).
- Loot randomness is too chaotic, it often feels unrewarding or inconsistent. I only found my first katana after 25 hours and finishing the campaign by then. Maybe just add some more weapon choices to the blacksmith or Finley? And also more than one item maybe, trying an enchant on the item, getting a blue item and waiting for the next day is not fun in a non-mmo game.
- Crucible has too many pits and knockback mechanics. It’s more frustrating than fun, especially with dash abilities causing self-falls, you want to beat up everything and enjoy the progression, but your only focus is not standing close to the edge and get pushed by some enemies.
- The cleansing of the endgame content zones is reaaally too long, like atleast 3 times too long, right now you need to kill 90% of the monster of the entire area to spawn the boss. I don’t think people will be motivated to do it more than 3 times if it stays like that.
A nice addition to the game in the future would be to have some more character customization, like a talent tree etc, right now the characteristic based system feel under-cooked but I imagine you probably have plans for that already.
