Hello, I have played the entirety of the beta as an archer. I love the bow changes and won’t go into movesets of bows here as this is about quivers. I have not finished the game yet only just entered Lowland Meadows and the forest. If anything changes I will reply here with more findings. In addition I have a feeling the quivers are not fully implemented yet
Pro:
- Quivers are overall fun and powerful the malus of stamina is very justifiable
- Some runes hitting twice gives very fun power boost (Skyfall Shot)
- Easy access to the advanced status system and shatter. Using a no element bow on frozen enemies with Skyfall Shot with ice quiver. Or using Skybreaker after you burning enemies with a fire quiver. I am using those two at the same time currently
Con:
- Quivers are the same just with different elements
- Quivers are very punishable in Co Op
- Since there are no enchantments and seemingly no facets once you find a quiver you got it, no excitement seeing it again as you can’t enchant them and you can’t craft them or research them. This is why I suspect no full implementation yet.
- They all turn the bow into a grenade launcher and heavily alter the flight paths of arrows. With the rune interactions as well.
- Maybe no physical / bleed applying quiver (again not fully through may drop later)
Suggestion / Wishlist:
Keep the elemental aspects on the quivers but also add quivers with less stamina punishment, maybe 3, that only add the element so we keep the versatility of them but have actual arrows
More creative quivers maybe lightweight arrows, that reduce the damage of the bow, but also reduce stamina cost instead of increasing it.
Ricochet quiver, 5 more stamina, reduces damage but arrows bounce between targets
If not already planned, make them craftable and enchantable with specific enchants only on quivers that only affect bows, could in the future be applied to other offhands as well with unique enchants benefiting the weapon type they support. Adding sockets and effects to the gems like status application build up.
