Plague Resistance utility rune is misleadingly useless

I have tried to use the Plague resistance rune with various armors to check its effectiveness.

Here are the results (without rune → with rune):

  • Naked: 0 → 0
  • Only plate chest: 27 → 31
  • Only plates gloves: 7 → 8
  • Only plate helmet: 17 → 20
  • Only plate legs: 27 → 30
  • Only cloth chest: 9 → 10
  • Only leather chest: 17 → 20
  • Only mesh chest: 23 → 26
  • Full plate: 61 → 64

Overall the rune adds at most 4% resistance. Unless I am mistaken and it’s also changing some hidden stats (which could be implied by its description, “mitigating poison effects”), this resistance boost is simply too low to be useful in the vast majority of encounters.

Therefore this rune is useless as of now. The issue is that it takes some digging to realize it, newer players would simply buy & equip the rune and waste money and space.

Suggestion: do not leave the Plague resistance rune (and possibly other resistance runes) in its current state. Either,

  1. Remove it from the game entirely;
  2. Vastly buff its effect at low resistances;
  3. Add other effects to it, such as resistance to Plague spells induced slowness or reduced DoT duration.

I can confirm that its three elemental cousins are similarly lacking, especially compared to such giants as the Poise Shield (tripling poise) or Damage Surge spells.
