Appreciate the love and effort you are putting in. The inventory item stacking is actually wonderful, a huge and rather “drastic” increase, but considering the sheer volume of items to loot, it will make the quality of life much better.
One of the things that has disappointed me the most was wanting to play bow as a main hand, but now only using it as a filler/spender.
Would you ever consider reverting this back so that I could play with a bow from say , the beach in the shallows, until end game. Maybe introduce a quiver as the offhand that has specific runes only available on the quiver so that the bow is the main damage source and the quiver is the rune source for spending focus?
the increase from 20 to 99 in inventory is good. YES it sounds much but i also run out of space with more stacks on HC farming. AND u have to consider the games will get bigger so u will have more and more stuff u will get. so it sounds to much but at the end it will be fine.
the breach update was to “hard”, “unfair” - 100%. the fixes was good BUT right now, the staggerbar on enemies increases to fast (with 2H) what makes the fights “to easy”. if u play without stagger enemies the game is just fine because u get alot of dmg. i would say the playerdmg is to high and stagger to much - thats all.
i think there is a memory leak right now - if i play DLAA 4K i run with 60-80 FPS and after hours of playing im on 48-60 FPS. something is going on there in the background.
Runes would need like POE2 gem skills a short video with a good discription where u can also get a in text discription on words what they are doing. - u see what the rune is doing - and u know what the rune is doing. IMPORTANT and best solution.
show more stats in the inventory character side like RES, ARMOR and so on. astead only mainstats.
REMOVE ANIMATIONSLOCK - everyone who plays with a 2h sword and do a big attack knows what i mean. animationslock is the worst in every game. this shouldnt never exists in anyway.
i know many think that would make it easier BUT u have to consider: 1. if u press an attack u have your stamina cost. 2. u do no dmg and 3. u have roll stamina cost. means - example: u want to do your big attack (STAMINA COSTS) - u see the enemie will hit you because u need 10000 minutes to do the attack - so u press roll (STAMINA COSTS) - u will have 2x stamina costs + u will do NO dmg because wrong timing. but u avoid to get the dmg. i think with this downside removing animationslock would just be fine.
right now u getting fast to every spot with shortscuts in the world but i would prefer if there where some “special whispers” in every zone u can port just to be fast in another zone astad run everytime from sacrament to every zone.
i dont know why but i prefer to port at the first whisper we get in deeps and then run all the way back to sacrament astead start running from sacrament to the first whisper
tbh the housing is absolute trash. placing stuff in the house is absolut cancer af. sry just honest.
i dont know why but i dont like sacrament. mabye because u see it to often and run around to often - i also dont like that if u upgrade some vendors u get loading screens because they are in a house now. everytime i do this i think its bad lol.
what i would love - to build a own little place. like the hunter house outside of sacrament with the garden and such stuff - it looks so fance. i thought about THIS should be my little house and it would be cool to place some other houses like that for vendors like a POE2 hideout but better … i mean its weird but i rly would love this lol.
attributes… im glad they will get a change soon because right now u just put dump all in mainstats and less things in other stuff - and if u dont do that u cant even wear the weapons they drop because they require hight main attributes. thats kinda bad BUT i would also NOT want that everyone can wear everything - i like that if i do more in strength there are many weapons i CANT wear - THATS GOOD. because i dont think - oh no i cant wear it its not my attribute, i just think cool. there will be something i can test out on another day/character whatever. so there is everytime a thing i dont know and want to try.
bountys/quests are meh. i dont like bounty like kill 10 monsters with a dagger. tbh this quests is trash. 1. its a total 0815 generic quests and 2. the worst of all is using specific weapons - thats dump. i get your point there for “its that players test new weapons” but no. its just bad. if i want test new weapons i would do and i dont need a quests that a need for. i hate this quest and ignore it everytime.
also i would prefer to refresh those quets 3-4 times a day or everytime if u finish 50% of those or just to get new ones if u done all. because what i dont like is, that i need to have more realms to minmax. general this having more realms for farming or whatever is bad. not a fan of it.
i have more stuff to talk about but i run out of time ^^ maybe i will edit it later
Thank you for for you work.
I just complete story and gosh it’s soo intrigue, so beautiful lvl design, visual, everything.
About changes I would like to say a few things.
Fallen Ember
It’s a strange decision. It’s a very important element of gameplay that help player balance between spamming craft and tune current gear. On late game amount of Embers that drop are little. So if you reduce it more so what we will have - 1 item of 10-15 chests or 20-40 mobs?
As for me it would be better to nerf drop of Fallen Ember on early stages, esp starting zone. I can easily get 50+ of them just by farm first location on a new world and get ton of Embers.
Drop rewarding
I’m very like to explore game world, find hidden chests e.t.c. For now it feels almost senseless to do it.
Most what I get: few coins and one-two cheep craft components. Very rarely I see some blue gear and even less cursed gear.
So in the end I left with two choices: spam craft of common gear to get acceptable proc or run over zones again and again to get few Fallen Ember (as I said before: drop rate on late zones is miserable) to try to make current gear comfort to play.
Hidden skill nerf
Playing mage it’s already challenging until you got optimal gear. Today (after the patch) I see nerf of Fused Coronet staff skills. Most nerf feels for Spin Strike rune. If previously (in Crucible) I left big enemies about 10% of HP now its ~30%. It’s frustrating change.
And for the feature question: do you plan to add some kind of transmog system in game?
I totally agree - first they increase loot drops across the board, then they make your pockets bigger so you have somewhere to store that loot. No Rest is increasingly becomming a simple button masher where you can spam your way through every encounter. Sure, you cannot swallow more than 5 health restoring meals per fight without Plage Icher upgrades, but in practice it only affects boss fights - which you can now enter fully healed since health items are so easy to mass-produce (more herb drops, remember ?).
Good thing the devs reduced (even if slightly) Fallen Ember drop rate, but still - beds giving you instant bonuses, more poise damage for ALL weapons (why not just blunt ? I’d expect them to do more poise and less normal dmg than say swords), more loot drops, enemies no longer being able to surprise you with an offscreen attack – it increasingly feels like a glorified ‘story mode’ to me.
Really appreciating the changes in Hotfix 3. The increased item stack limit and improved drop rates have made inventory management much smoother. Also, the performance optimizations in The Shallows are noticeable—no more frame drops in that area. Looking forward to the upcoming bigger patch!
please try to answer in english. that way it is easier to understand for everyone. you can also use translatin tools like DeepL or Ai like ChatGPT to translate.
here is the translation: Make all the mobs 25% slower.
Why not dismantle stuff you get to produce embers?
Another point I don’t know why I can’t roll heat infusion on a weapon but if I enchant it I can get it.
Clear affix rolls would be nice.
Maybe DMG infusions can roll on POS 1.
Defence on POS 2 and so on.
players are like water, most go the route of least resistance; the attribute system is the least worst option, so long as re-spec is available to them.
I don’t think Enough spotlight is put on Re-spec in the current game; it’s not a Quest Objective, and casuals likely don’t even know it exists
This might explain some of the odd data points Thomas brought up: players may not know what they’re doing and invest their stats poorly; if they don’t understand what they’re doing wrong, or know that they can re-allocate them via the Seneschal, they’ll likely have a bad experience with the game.
Personally, the current game is fine for me; I like climbing over challenging skill-cliffs, and beat Darak 2 before Hotfix 2. I disagree with the notion of making the game easier via universal player buffs and enemy nerfs; I argue that the confusion most players experience is the result of a lack of game knowledge that can be fixed via Tutorials and Quest Objectives ~ the Crucible quest is already there, so adding a side-objective to unlock attribute re-allocation (have Elsa tell the player the stories she has read about Cerim reconstituting themselves, etc. and ask the player to unlock the potential and demonstrate it for her research).
Totally agree. Most of the complaints about “excessive difficulty” aren’t really because the combat system is poorly designed, they’re more about players messing up their stat builds or getting stuck with a weapon that just doesn’t feel right. And honestly, that’s understandable. The game doesn’t really help casual or less experienced players get a good first impression or figure out an optimal stat setup to try out the variety of weapons.
These kinds of complaints are going to keep popping up unless one of two things happens: either the game gets easy enough that even bad builds can keep progressing, or players get the tools they need to respect and properly explore the weapon options from the start. And let’s be honest the second option is the way to go.
I actually made a suggestion about this myself, since I think fixing that—plus making it easier to restock food—would take a lot of pressure off and ease the frustration. And it would also help avoid the constant trend of simplifying the combat over and over again.
Did you guys flat out remove all +damage +elemental damage boons from the crucible? I went from being able to clear it at level 30 with some difficulty to not being able to make it halfway most of the time.
Edit: Yep, definitely some stealth updates to crucible difficulty. It looks like:
Aggro radius increased drastically
The second half of room scalers appear to be getting applied to the first half. Stuff has way more HP and does way more damage
+dmg +ele damage boons either remove entirely or made much rarer
Fully optimized build with 72 into strength and a max rank claymore and I can make it only halfway in crucible about ~30% of the time depending on boon and room RNG. This ain’t it guys.
Future edit: Something is bugged with the crucible. It randomly reverted to how it was pre-hotfix, but then when I exit the game and load back in it’s back to mega-hard, but then reverts itself to pre-hotfix again after a few runs? Idk what’s going on
You give off massive projection vibes lol. Something tells me you’re a silver Csgo player. Strange to keep referencing FPS games/players as well. Also, anyone ever who says the phrase “…you lack critical thinking” in an online forum, has 100% always been the one lacking critical thinking.
i’m with you on this one.
It’s painful to watch how the Moons continue gutting the game with each consecutive update to appease the crowd, deviating from their own creative vision in the process, and making the whole experience inconsistent.
So much for ‘being truly independent’.
They no longer need to follow orders from their publisher, now they have a new master - the ‘vocal majority’ demanding more loot, a trivial combat and infinite pockets, so god forbid - people wouldn’t need to grind too much.
Ubisoft at least lets players choose whether to buy time savers or not - in No Rest you get one shoved down your throat, whether you like it or not.
[UPDATE]
I feel I owe the dev team an appology - I treated you guys too harshly, accusing you of ‘trying to appease the crowd’, because I didn’t know that your financial situation was ‘less than ideal’, with No Rest no longer having the support of a well-established publisher with deep pockets.
I’ll try to make it up to you by giving No Rest a - mostly deserved - thumbs up on Steam (done), and buying both Ori games to help keep the lights up at Moon Studios (also done; I just hope some of what I paid went to your pocket, not only Valve’s and Xbox’es )
