I just bought the game and launched it for the first time but the game shows a black screen and crash after about 30 sec - 1 min with no error message.
I tried:
Verifying integrity of game files
Reinstalling
Restarting PC
Starting with -dx11 launch option
Disabling overlay
Closing a bunch of background application
No crash log was generated
(I checked both “%USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Moon Studios\NoRestForTheWicked\backtrace\crashpad\reports” and “C:/Users/User/AppData/Local/Temp/Moon Studios/NoRestForTheWicked/Crashes”)
Here is the player.log and player-prev.log
And well this also happens because you probably have Smooth Motion enabled on your global NVIDIA Driver settings. Disabling that on the NVIDIA App (Graphics > Global configuration > Smooth Motion) should also fix it.
After updating my NVIDIA driver, No Rest for the Wicked crashes or shows a white screen on startup.
System information:
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Laptop GPU
Driver: 32.0.16.1047
CPU: Intel i7-14650HX
RAM: 32 GB
Resolution: 2560x1440
Graphics API: Direct3D11
Game Build Id: 29466
Engine Version: Unity_6000.1.15f1_upd1017
What happens:
The game sometimes reaches Steam login / IntroSequence.WaitForIntroSequence, but often crashes shortly after initialization or stays on a white screen.
I also noticed Steam/NVIDIA related modules in the process, including:
gameoverlayrenderer64.dll, NVUnityPlugin.DLL, NvPresent64.dll, and nvspcap64.dll.
Thanks for the help. I tried disabling Discord/Steam/NVIDIA overlays and also switched to NVIDIA GPU only / dGPU mode, but the game still crashes or shows a white screen on startup.
The crash stack still includes dxgi → NvPresent64 → NVP_Init_Vulkan → UnityPlayer, so it still looks like a Unity/NVIDIA driver compatibility issue.
