New Classes Need to be interesting

I’m just watching Q&A and had something to say… … . .

I use to play final fantasy tactics and loved the class system they had also an addition on top of that you also had a job system, this is something Wicked could use.

Not only is the player a Knight, but he can eventually chose a job. is he a fishermen, woodmen, medic etc. Fishermen with a bonus to fishing, which gives you a bonus to DEX at certain job levels, or better fish prices in shops. you can go to the new job board/NPC and pick up Fishing jobs which may lead you too possible unique quests. defiantly something that could be built upon over time.

as I’m really having a hard time saying goodbye to the current attribute system. maybe with the combat classes you could implement sub attributes points, you balance the game around the knight classes, maybe you could have attribute points catered to that class in some way, the player could choose, put a point into Knight of the Crown, put a point into Knight of the Void, Put a point into Knight of the Sage, which increases maybe strength a little bit, or intelligence a little bit, not large increases.

just enough to give the player the feel of building a character. rather then just weapons dictate what your build is.

I was really drawn to wicked cause i could chose how my character is rather then pre defined classes. so if they change, we need a system that offers choices that make up for that.

Please use unique names for the new classes, knight, wizard, Samurai, Archer. that shits old, give us some interesting named classes please. give use Wicked names.

any who. nof said. i love all you do. and support what ever the 1.0 ships with. just here to help. thanks Wicked!

I think i understand what you mean, though i really like the idea with the upcoming class system. In the current system i find it very restricting and it just leads to players creating new characters each time they find a new cool weapon they want to try out.

i havent played final fantasy tactics so im not really familiar with the system, but in my mind, and they way i interpret Thomas’ comments on it, it seems like there will be some sort of skill tree in each class which still allows for personal customisation.

I can just see myself continuing to play on the same character trying to level up the different classes.

Another question i have with this system however is: how will requirements for weapons work in the new system? Right now its pretty straight forward, to use a weapon you need this amount of points in whatever. But will you need a certain level in a class to use a higher tier weapon? Must be difficult later in the game to level up classes with low tier weapons in my opinion.

What do you think?
