Make the legendaries really legendaries

Guys idk if this is crazy but i think they need to change somehow the legendaries weapons dropped in crucible, most of time it’s not enough or we don’t like the enchants of them but also they don’t have nothing more special to them i would enjoy more and will be more pleasant to farm those if they were different to all other weapons on the game. An example. For me i don’t really enjoy doing crucible but if the legendary gauntlet was the one who has the Drunken style and unique runes only for them attached to them i would crazy farm those because they’re really unique pattern of movesets and runes. I don’t know if you can understand my point. but that would make them more special, more unique and the runes on them will be more coveted. i don’t like if they make them customizable but just more ¿legendary? with a standalone movesets more flashier like the gauntlets example that i made. Something that you will be more happy to see with the legendary drop because you will guaranteed of a flashy movesets or runes or enchants not just the same movesets, runes of a grey weapon dropped in the shore at the begining of the game

Indeed, the strange thing about the crucible is that it’s basically designed to be something you grind or test builds once you reach “end game”.. but the rewards are only really usable early to mid game.

Once you have a full set of custom plagued gear, there’s only one or two rings in the crucible worth grinding for.

Other than that, the rewards are lackluster at best.

----- Possible Solutions -----

Retooling the Legendaries to be more “special” would be one way to do it.. another way is to make them upgradable or have a way to scale their power beyond how you get them.

Some games make it so the legendaries you find are damaged (weakened) and you have to restore them to their full power.

This would be a good use for all the “green essence” you get from the crucible as well as give Seneschal something to do once you’ve bough all his normal upgrades.

Interesting, I’ve never played New World. So I had to look up their artifact system.

It’s an fascinating system.. but seems to be very similar to the way you grind artifacts in Genshin Impact.


The devs of No Rest for the Wicked could play with how the features exist in those games. Making boss drops from the “outbreaks” and the future crucible dungeons more rewarding.

However, for legendaries.. I was more thinking of a way to “restore” them to their former glory using Seneschal from the Crucible.

IE: Rather than RNG farming for weeks/months. You’d pick up a “memory” (fragment?) of them. It has some nice stats to start but continuous runs in the crucible could improve/upgrade it to it’s original power set.

Just realized the video was from a different game (Throne and Liberty).
Upon another search, I was able to find the Artifact system in New World.

All-in-all.. I like the general idea.
Though the “rules” for what can and cannot be upgraded might need some better in-game notices to avoid confusion.

From what I understand, when you upgrade the weapons, you have to pick “perks” each time. Creating a somewhat unique item by the end of it.

That could be a fun way to drive players to farm different versions of each legendary.

My only complaint would revolve around upgrade costs and the grind to get them if to varied or RNG dependent.

Beyond that it’s a solid system that could easily be tweaked (evolved) to fit No Rest for the Wicked.

new world’s artifact system is other than a set gear it’s more like unique items with unique combos like legendaries here but way more powerful with the right combinations which you only can equip one type of each for example only 1 armor artifact can be weared at a time if you have chest piece you can’t equip another glove, pants etc as an artifact same for the weapons but their combinations are very good in the game so idk how to implement that in nrftw cuz new world is an mmoprg and you can wear armors weapons and jewels which means you can equip total 3 artifact for each type of item but in here we only have armors and weapons so it kinda tricky to bring artifact system here

Legendary items should be CORE. They should be strong enough not because of nothing, but because with the right leveling and selection of items they will be played in a unique style.

The way they’ve done it in NRFTW is very nice from my perception. The golden items are very strong and have their own unique combat style. So that’s cool. I had used the CSB with its taint throughout a full playthrough.

Giving the the weapons system a second look, how weapons are built, it shows that legendaries are built according to the weapon system. NRFTW gives us a further option here: Considering what makes up a weapon and what is offered troughout the game, NRFTW gives us everything to also custom build our own ‘golden’ weapons. And those can even be golden+.
