Give the seneschal a gambler-type shop

The lack of gear drops in the crucible really hurts, since it was the only reliable way to find some really fun weapons. Adding loot drops back to the crucible directly might be distracting and overwhelming. Instead, giving the seneschal a typical arpg-style gambler shop would allow players to get different weapons they want to try, keep the Skinner box rng effect and provide incentive for more crucible runs. The currency could be the green currency if the devs want to keep it contained to the crucible or fallen embers if they want to encourage playing outside the crucible as well. One way to make crucible runs even more worth it for people who already have good exalted gear would be adding the chance of unique affixes (maybe that exist separately from standard enchants) to gambled gear. Making them build specific (20% damage to enemies with plague; enemies take 20% more damage from ranged attacks after being hit with a bow rune, etc.) would be even spicier.

As a number of others have pointed out, the crucible has gotten longer and harder, but offers significantly fewer incentives. Adding a new, unique way to get good items will encourage players to actually engage with the awesome new content the devs have added to the game.

I really like the idea of being able to get unique affixes to our gear from the Seneschal. Especially those new unique effects like the lightning strike, burn summon and plague explosion.

I agree with the general idea of having more incentive to clear the Crucible after getting Exalted gear.

Maybe even something like being able to modify runes in some fashion. Thus expanding on the reasons to clear the Crucible.

Yeah im pretty disappointed as well. There needs to be a way to get BiS candidates. even at this stage of the game.

overhauling the crucible was their idea to keep people playing the game but then they forgot that endgame revolves around gear progressionā€¦ it hurts so much its funny, but it mostly hurts

Gear progression is tied to upgrades more than actual gear. A lot of early weapons have amazing move sets, and the difference between armor within the same categories is just aesthetic. The real issue with making tier 3 weapons so rare is that the only thing for people who have already done all the content is to play around with new weapons.

not if you factor in enchantments and actually use a weapon that drops seldomly and very late in the gameā€¦
