Hello, I want to share a piece of feedback that I haven’t seen brought up yet.
I have been playing the game on my LCD Steam Deck, with the game loaded onto a microSD card. The very first time I booted the game, the time from launching the game to being able to interact with the main menu felt very long - in fact, I wondered if the game was frozen on a black screen at one point before something finally loaded.
I figured at the time that this may just be a one-time initial boot problem, but upon booting the game a second time, I had the same long boot time. I did a couple of trial game boots while timing how fast until I get in-menu, and it was consistently coming in at just over 1 minute and 50 seconds.
I know that general technical performance of the game is still a work in progress, particularly for the Steam Deck. I also know this problem may be helped by loading the game from an internal SSD as opposed to a microSD card. However, I load all of my games from the microSD card, and the boot time for this game is notably worse than I’ve experienced in any game on my Deck. This may be something worth looking into, as the long boot time puts a bit of a damper on being able to play this game on the go.
Is anyone else experiencing issues like this either on the Steam Deck or other platforms? Additionally, if you have a Deck, could you try launching with the game on an internal SSD for comparison? I have a 64 GB Deck, and unfortunately it’s not possible for me to clear enough space on my internal storage for the game right now.
