Furniture items definitely deserve a certain level of gameplay relevance. However, I hope that the current implementation is more of a temporary solution.
Since the update, I’ve found myself adopting a very “pack rat” playstyle. My suggestion would be to limit the number of basic furniture pieces such as chairs, benches, tables, etc., and instead make higher-quality furniture provide more comfort points. This would encourage replacing and upgrading furniture rather than simply placing more and more of it.
That leads me to the next point: the apartments are quite small. I actually like that in principle, but refineries, storage chests, and now furniture take up so much space that I’ve already had to acquire a second and even a third apartment.
What I also find a bit inconsistent is that two small chests with 20 slots each take up less space than one large chest with 40 slots. That doesn’t feel quite right.
• Currently very “pack-rat” oriented
Request:
• Limit furniture placement
• Higher quality furniture should provide more comfort
→ focus on quality over quantity
• Houses are quite small (which is fine in principle)
BUT:
• Combination of:
◦ refineries
◦ chests
◦ furniture
→ leads to needing multiple houses
Additionally:
• Two small chests (20 slots each) take less space than one large chest (40 slots)
→ feels inconsistent and unintuitive
