Limiting movement with Whispers

I don’t think that “what you think you want isn’t always what you should be allowed to have” is my opinion, it’s just something that can definitely be the case sometimes. As for what you want, no I don’t get to decide it. I just wanted to keep the idea in mind when discussing this.

Also I came off as an asshole talking about enacting restrictions on players and I apologize. I don’t have a problem with you, I’m just annoyed with the Idea of “just don’t use it” as an answer to giving players too much capability, possibly in a way that will pressure them to make the less rewarding choice. I’ve seen that response in many game development discussions and it shows a lot of misunderstanding about how games work. My examples are extreme but they get the point across.

I don’t believe completely opening up fast travel is the answer, but I respect that players like you will have less time on their hands and different priorities and I agree that the current system is lacking. Heck, just having a map indicator as to what was the last whisper you were at would be nice…

I can see both arguments here but I also would prefer a more open fast travel system. For me it is about time to play the game and although it doesn’t take that long to get around it does add up. I would be happy with a system where you can travel from Sacrament to other whispers but only back to Sacrament from anywhere else. That way it can be a system you can interact with if you want. Maybe have the last whisper as the top option. I get what you are saying about people saying ‘Just don’t use it’ (it can be an easy way out where you need to change and actively dodge a system in order to get to play the way you want to) but this would then be a system that you can ignore if you like quite easily. Having it as a realm option is good as well.
