Lacquered Bow misses locked-on enemies during run attack (consistently with quivers equipped)

Recently got the lacquered bow. I noticed that, when attacking locked-on enemies with quivers equipped (the blasting quiver ESPECIALLY), a fair portion of my run attacks straight-up MISS the enemy, even if they’re not moving erratically. I noticed this most clearly in the Lowland Meadows.

Specs:

  • Mouse and keyboard; control setting is Mouse and WASD
  • Toggle run is enabled for the videos attached
  • I attack with left-click; my movement keys are WASD; my dodge is SPACE
  • Auto-lock is ON

I’m unsure if the moveset is supposed to allow the user to miss shots - if so, that feels REALLY bad for a unique bow. All the other bows offer a smoother run-and-gun playstyle, whereas this one requires you to just…have run toggled off? Or make sure you’re standing still, attack, dodge, make sure you’re standing still, etc. If this is intended behavior, please just nerf the stand-still moveset and buff the run attack moveset so it doesn’t miss. It feels BADDDD.

Damn, I couldn’t believe my eyes in that first video. Definitely not intended!

I will escalate this post haste.

Thank you for the report Mary!

SO GLAD it’s not intended behavior; lacquered bow is hands-down my favorite bow I’ve discovered so far and I enjoy doing elemental damage/combos with it!

Additionally, I discovered the lacquered bow’s stationary attack also has an issue where equipping a quiver VASTLY changes its moveset. Without a quiver, the stationary attack fires four arrows that all home in on your locked-on target. With a quiver, the stationary attack fires four arrows that do NOT home in on your locked-on target and instead hit in a loose spread around it. Usually the two arrows in the center of the spread will hit the target, but the arrows on the leftmost and rightmost sides do not hit the target. This behavior is consistent if I fire an arrow without a quiver without locking onto anything.

TLDR;

  • WITH quiver, locked-on to target, arrows do not home in on target.
  • WITHOUT quiver, locked-on to target, arrows home in on target.
  • WITHOUT quiver, NOT locked-on to target, arrows do not home in on target.

Hope this helps! Let me know if there’s any other troubleshooting I can do or assistance I can provide.

Log in today and my bow targeting is not working properly will not lock on target also the damage seem different then yesterday currently using Lacquered Bow. Rune Shot are hitting however normal attack simply shoots over the target.

My brother and I have played with bows as our main weapons for at long time, and its been fun as hell. He had fire infusion on his where the fire arrows automatically found their targets and so did my arrows on my bow with frost infusion. We both have the same bow The “Laquered bow” (yellow bow). After the patch, my brothers fire arrows are still all finding his enemies, but mine are´nt. Or I should say only two of my four frost arrows are, the other two perminently misses its targets and seem to be no longer able to home in on their targets. This must surely be a new bug…right?

That surely must be a bug, yes FoxMulder

Can you show me a clip or screenshot of this happening perhaps to speed up any investigation?

I have forwarded this topic at this point but please add that if you are able!

Thx for the reply, my brother says that the issue/bug seemingly has been solved:slightly_smiling_face:

I would love to hear how! Was it happening while a quiver was equipped or unequipped?

If you happen to find the trigger (now or later), much obliged if you let us know

Hello Silas,

I had the fire quiver equipped btw. We have since my first post experienced it again, but loading out of the game and back in seemed to solve it for both of us

Alright, please let me know (if you’re able) if this is still the case with the latest build of the game!
