In Game Compendium with all sorts of information would be AMAZING

Please, please add a bestiary and an NPC library (like the one in Dragon’s Dogma 2). What I mean by bestiary is a way that we can see the 3D model of monsters and enemies we encounter, learn about their lore the more of their kind we defeat, etc. That would be an amazing addition to game, not only from a lore perspective so that we can delve deeper into it, but also because I really want to see the creatures you guys have created from up close, see their details, etc, and from the isometric camera angle that isn’t possible

Nice idea.

Not just enemies but all NPCs in general and also important items.

Yes! Totally agree. The more they could add to a Bestiary/NPC compedium in game the merrier! It allows to keep track of favorite NPCs, their stories, as well as know more about how the monster we meet came to be, what they were before, how did their transformation happened, what remains of their previous self in their new monstrous form

So I just unlocked Sacrament city, and so far I’ve been thoroughly enjoying the game. One feature I think this game could really use is somewhere to read lore snippets we’ve collected throughout the games - the little journal pages and such. A world lore glossary as we venture into the game would also be very welcome!

As someone with memory issues, having some way to reference things we’ve learned about the world and its people along the way would just be super helpful, rather than having to rely on often-unreliable fan wikis and such.

So far great game and it’s been really fun.

I absolutely adore the art direction and commitment to atmosphere and polish you guys are bringing to the cutscenes and as such, it would be super amazing if we can get a menu area where we can watch previously seen cutscenes or some kind of unlocked video thingy.

I have seen several iterations of “kill X enemy with Y weapon” or “kill X enemy in Y place” in both Bounties and Challenges. However, sometimes I have no idea what I am supposed to be looking for. One I got today was “Kill 5 Risen Scoundrels with a Spear”. I probably have fought a Risen Scoundrel before, but have no idea what they look like or where to go and find them, made all the more confusing when enemy locations change after completing game events and areas.

An in-game bestiary or some kind of heading / enemy map location when giving quests of this nature would go a long way to making these quests less frustrating.

As an additional note on these - sometimes there are not enough of ‘X’ (creatures) at Y (place) to complete the bounty during one time period.- which would be fine if you could have multiple bounties running, but you can only have one active bounty at a time.

There were not enough Crabs in Mariner’s Cove(?) for that bounty, and I end up wasting a fair amount of time trying to find the last two… I’m fairly certain I had killed them all.

Likewise for the plague rats/dogs in Orban(?)'s Glenn … or Dale…
The place just south of the front gate of Sanctuary. I needed 5, there were only 3- and I searched carefully.

I am 1000% all for a bestiary. Not even just for identifying enemies but maybe showing statistics about them such as drops, resistances and weaknesses, spawn rates and locations, even fun little side lore would be awesome. Defeat a certain amount to unlock new information about them

As the game will grow, more new items and materials will appear. And as of right now it has 5 or 6 gems to put on armor or weapon and I struggle to remember what does what effect.

So suggestion is to create a book, log-book, how ever you what to call it, similar interface to recipes, but it’d have materials and items, with more description information, on what item does, since some materials are zone specific, as you progress, notes in the book will update, adding more new information.

For example spruce wood, as you pick it for the first time, a new note added the the book, that this material used for crafting and building, can be found in zone 1, where player just picked it up, as player goes on and finds spruce wood in another zone, let it be zone 2, now description will include information such as can be found in zone 1 and zone 2.

For the gems is similar, but adds more info on what gem actually does, when infused to the item.

Affixes can be a separate chapter in the book, when you enchant an item with an affix for the first time or player finds an item with affix, it’s added to the book, and now player can have a better understanding what enchants they can expect form armor piece or a weapon, as well as cursed affixes

This will keep all the knowledge in one place, player won’t need external tools, to keep track, where something can be found and what it does, and you can even add an achievement for completing notes on all items.

I’d like to have this idea extended to the various diary/book entries (and other lore relevant collectibles) which can be found across the zones.

Right! Good idea.

Maybe have a section for found weapons, got to crucible and it just rains on me with different kind of weapons.

It would be nice to be able to view exactly what a rune does before you buy and/or slot them.

Another suggestion is to have someplace where you can review the tutorial messages that pop-up on the right side of the screen.

Do you think it would be sensible to add an optional zoom in effect for backstabs? It might hit harder and I’d get to really see what exactly I’ve been fighting.

I like the idea a lot. The characters and art is so gorgeous. It would be nice to see them zoomed in every once in a while. Maybe also after clearing a bunch enemies, too.

A slow mo zoom finale on the final hit on the last of a group of enemies would be awesome. However I wonder how often it would be and if it wouldn’t get annoying, and I wonder what would define a “group” as far as coding it.

For instance, sometimes I will fight two guys and two more guys are firing bolts from up top where you can’t get to them until later. How would the game know to do it or not? Also I mentioned adding slow mo but that’s probably not feasible when multiplayer is added.

But I would love for the developers to think of our ideas and implement something similar. :folded_hands:t2:

Excellent idea here. I’d love to see those designs as well. If it’s not practical to do this IG, though, perhaps a bestiary works?

Also, when you stop to talk to a NPC, have a much closer zoom during the conversation. I wanna see ALL the NPC designs, not just foes.

Camera goes very zoomed in during stealth for those types of kills, which is awesome.

I think a zoom in for finishers (which they said they’re adding) and backstabs would work for combat as long as it’s only for the last enemy in vicinity, otherwise it’ll cause issues with being able to see where other active enemies are

Both a bestiary and zoom in for NPCs are no brainers, that would be awesome! I love looking through the bestiary in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, which has a similar problem of enemies being hard to see.

I dont know if this is a planned feature or what but i think a beastiary would be amazing. All the enemy types are so cool looking and having a way to veiw them up a bit better would be awesome. It could just be a menu option but i my mind the ideal thing would be a build you unlock and upgrade. Like a traveling scholar or historian, going from book stand to full blown class room. Could have things like the more you kill the more you unlock lore pasages about them maybe even unique stuff like art works for your house or something.

I would like to see added in the future a sort of discovery tab or field guide that updates upon new encounters and discoveries. such as the nameless crabs we do a murderfest on for stew. a very basic creature, but would be cool to have a blank page with an image of them. as you kill x amount it shows lore, a kill tracker, what their drops can be, where they can be found. cool stuff like that would be a nice long term addition to the game.
