I want to get back into the game, need advice

I don’t know what all of the runes do or how the item systems work. Before I quit I made it to the Riven Twins boss but haven’t beaten it yet.

Which build could I play that doesn’t require much game knowledge and is capable of beating all current content? Any other tips for getting back in?

I’m also too lazy to think about what the runes do and how they work.
So I chose to just attack close to the battle to survive. Not going to invest at all in the attribute points and gear that the runes require. I’m having a bit of a tough time getting past the Echo Knights though. I lacked the fatal strike to deal a lot of damage in a short period of time, which turned my fight with the Echo Knight into a protracted battle. It was long, as long as fifteen minutes, and I couldn’t defeat him without making mistakes.

Magic builds are still quite good, though not as OP as they were a while ago melting crucible boss. However, they can still steamroll you through the ‘main’ game just fine. The start might seem weaker than other playstyles, but after a few levels, you become very powerful. And you are less dependent on random weapon drops and can get the best staves from the magic vendor. Also, you are less reliant on enchanting weapons, since enchanting staves make them having less runes

magic builds have one huge downside tho: they take quite long to set up. it is 0 fun to go through the first area up to sacrament when u have almost no focus, and most likely not even a staff yet. my mage is one of my 2 fav. builds, but it took quite long to set up.

the absolute easiest build right now imo is a dual dagger rogue with life leech (gain Hp on hit). you basically can’t die, its fast and fun, and you get most gear in the 1st area. after reaching sacrament and gaining access to enchanting and more upgrades you are set.
