I’m curious to see how the lovely people of this forum engage with the gameplay…
This isn’t meant to be “show off your best stuff”, but more so what kind of build you use and how you handle things on the regular.
For example, the uses of the various potions or bombs, how much of a role food buffs play, etc.
I’ve watched content creators I’m subscribed to play this, but that’s more of a “this is the current game” thing before swiftly moving on. Plus they’ve most likely played an earlier build.
I’d like to ask if people that are active here could show a single casual Crucible run of theirs. Maybe there’s something we can pick up on from across different play-styles, the roles of consumables, reasons behind gameplay decisions, buffs prioritised, etc.
Are you already on the discord? Theres a channel for Build show-off and also a channel for showing clips of your gameplay. You can also just stream and show others live how you play if you find the audience.
No, I haven’t really touched discord at all, nor have I considered streaming as I don’t know how I’d handle a live audience, or even build one.
I don’t know how to properly explain myself, but I guess I also wouldn’t want it to seem like people are telling each other “how TO play” rather than “how THEY play”. Probably somewhere in my head I’m assuming a lot of tryhard vibes, like during my time with Monster Hunter World when randoms were telling me I should be using x skills, and y skills are wasteful, etc. I just want to enjoy the game with my mates with a comfortable build.
I guess I’d also imagine that the discussion here would be of a more slower pace, which personally suits me better, and I thought this could be somewhat targeted towards people that maybe don’t usually share their gameplay, such as myself. I’ll consider it if you think I’m being a bit mad about it
No worries, were all mad. Especially on the discord. You dont Have to share or watch or build an audience. We just talk nonsense and tell frown at people coming in asking when the next update is. You can just join conversations that you feel comfortable with.
Some people will ask “What is the Best build?” and will hear all kinds of answers, not something you have to take part in.
But I think you can see for yourself, if you like, the way others play on there. And join the madness : )
you can play this game however you want. However, there are runes and weapons that are significantly better than others both in terms of damage and better animations
https://youtu.be/EqgbTWpZkxM (you can even hear the input. very high quality^^ forgot to turn off my mic. im not gonna redo that. gotta wait for the next update to drop )
About the Fetid Club; do you get much use out of that on the regular? I haven’t used it yet but it seems that the runes on it are quite lengthy, and I personally am not a fan of long-commitment animations
Do you still get bonuses from shields if they’re equipped but not in-hand? I assumed it wouldn’t as its weight isn’t affecting the character.
And how much enchanting did you have to do to get what you have?
I tried to get something I’d be okay with but felt it was too much hassle
yeah the fetid club is slow but has nice combos, if you get them off, and you have to respec to get the most out of it… it’s not really worth it…
shields only give bonuses when they are used alongside a one hand weapon, not when equipped.
a lot of enchanting. buying a couple of inventories each to get some good candidates. the upside of using vendor gear. trying to get a good roll on summer sting? near impossible. i was super lucky with this one and bricked it by thinking different elemental attacks stack… but getting summer sting alone is a pain in the bart… i try to farm the black trench because T3s drop there but even then it takes a bit too long. i think this is my 3rd in over 100 hours of endgame time… (thats why i like the deconstruct idea so much Suggestion: Deconstruct, Dismantle & Disenchant Gear)
Yeah my patience enchanting with RNGsus wore thin pretty quickly, so I was quite pleased with exalting being introduced to solve my poor luck with infusing gems
I’m also a fan of the dismantling idea mentioned - it was a nice mechanic in Kingdoms of Amalur
