Gear Enchantments - God Rolls

At the time of this post - Things may change down the road with future content and expansions.
But lets set the record straight regarding armor / weapon enchantments.

Do’s
Dont’s
And what you should be looking for.

In my experience in the game at the time of this post - This came after 100 hours of constant farming and what should be looked at when it comes to honing your craft and becoming the most OP.

First thing that should be done - You need to play through the game.
Enjoy it take some time learn the game, enchance your gear, complete whats currently available.
Down the road your going to want to become the best but from a beginners perspective enjoy whats currently available before worrying about becoming the best.

One of the biggest DONT’s i should mention right from the start - Is DONT worry about enchantments until later on in the game - Utilize the 4 sockets and 4 rune slots will get you the most out of your gear from the start. Unless you get the drop your looking for save your coin for later honing.

Weapon rolls -

Weapon rolls are highly important when honing your build.
And to get to the point the God Rolls is sometimes unobtainable but not impossible.

What i found to be the god roll when it comes to weapons is usually a 3/4 or 4/4 blue roll.
Your going to want something along the lines of a Damage increase being direct or apart of the Fire/Ice/Plague/Lighning Spec’s - Honestly they dont really matter this far into the game whatever damage increase you get is recommended.
The other 2 rolls you will want to be looking for is - Health on Kill - Focus on kill.
Both of these rolls are crucial in weapon enhancement.
Reason being after each encounter your going to take damage during that encounter - Nobodys perfect.
And nothing like some special power gain after the kill as well so you can move onto the next enemy without having to constantly use focus potions.

Armor Rolls -

This will break down into 4 separate categories as per each type of armor your going to want a different break down of what is considered the god roll.

First ima start with gloves as gloves are the same for all 4 categories of armor. this you want to aim for the 3/4 or 4/4 blue rolls.
God roll being just the 3 are needed but the 4th roll is optional in any category.

Health % Gain on Kill
Focus % Gain on Kill
Stamina % Gain on Damage dealt

This is the god roll all other enchantments are pretty much garbage in regards to the god roll of glove enchantments.

Cloth Armor -

Now the purpose of cloth armor you would think should be - Mages as you can spec more into damage scaling with staves that honestly isnt really needed given rune damage output.

Because cloth armor is so low in Armor - Armor % isnt really going to be looking for in armor enchantments rather the following -

Health % or Healing Increase %.
With a low armor build your gonna want to spec more into HP

A resistance modifier - Preferrably plague right now as in Crucible the boss does deal Plague Damage ranged attacks and thats where your primarily going to be farming.

Weight Reduction or durability - Cloth armor means more damage taken which means more repair costs or reduction in weight means you can spec less into Equipment Load which can be put more into HP or Damage specs.

Lastly - Stamina Regeneration - Depending your build stamina regeneration is the way to go for the 4th modifier as your gonna wanna build up more dodge and attack more.

Leather Armor -

Leather armor follows closely with Cloth armor as the armor gain is better but still pretty low in comparison to Mesh and Plate armor.

For the god roll on leather armor is as follows

Armor % increase - To boost the already low armor.
Health % increase or Healing % increase -
A resistance modifier - Still Plague Resistance preferrably.
Stagger or Knock down resistance followed closely by Stamina Regeneration.

Mesh Armor / Plate Armor -

Now when you move onto Mesh and Plate Armor these are the heavier armor types which require less health but require more equipment load / Weight reduction.

Also the Mesh and plate armors have higher Poise Defense than the other 2.
And for whatever reason Poise Defense is HUGE in damage reduction if even a little.

What i found when it came to mesh armor god rolls is as follows.

Armor % Increase
Poise Defense % increase.
Resistance modifier - Plague resistance if possible.
Weight Reduction or Stamina Regeneration.

Now 1 thing i found when it came to Cursed enchantments or the - Purple rolls.

For example you wont get an Armor % Increase with a purple enchantment but will get other enchantment rolls iwth one negative modifier.
I prefer to stay away from the Purple rolls but if your looking for purple rolls theres only 2 negative rolls your going to want or the gear is garbage.

Negative Modifier - Experience Gain % Increase - Durability % Loss.
Max level in the game is currently level 30 and at the time of this writing its better to avoid any of the other negative rolls as the bonuses youll get dont really out weigh the negative roll.

But at the cost of having a higher percentage of some other rolls.
Such as instead of a singular resistance modifier it becomes all resistance.
Or the Healing Effects increase from 25% to a max of ive seen 33%
Its hard to say what the god roll is for Negative modified gear other than its better just to stay away from them all together.

Lastly this is a Do and Dont to wrap this all up.
the best thing to start with is the purchasable gear from the merchants once you have all them up to level 3.
Once you hone 1 build to the best of your abilitys hold the gear drops for the style of look and armor type your going for and wish for the best on enchantments.
Be this is costly so it requires alot of crucible runs your going to want to save your coin for enchantments / gear purchases.
Usually youll get 0-3 god rolls per 35 enchantments at the enchantress.

So your looking anywhere of 1-2g per try.

Hope this helps in honing everyones craft and see you out there!

Generally a pretty good breakdown but to me you’re missing God rolls like focus on damage dealt and health on damage dealt-at least for the crucible boss.

I’d also argue that health% increase is good regardless of the armor type.

Focus Regen and Health Regen are also nice QOL features.

Lastly focus gain % increase is great when you miss a rune attack and need to replenish fast.

I do agree probably avoid purple until later endgame or if you’re very experienced with the game.

I think that enchanting expendable gear when playing first time might be beneficial, that way you learn what you like and dont. You learn how those enchantments work and which ones you would love to have and which to avoid in later when you start optimizing.
I try and avoid “Guides” and play it myself without internet Gamer perfectionism : )
