Gain Health ≠ Heal (Enchantments glossary missunderstanding)

So I spent A LOT of Embers into a build just to realize that Gain Health is not the same to Heal.
When in theory both are the same, in practice they are not.

So:
Heal = Healing with runes or food.
Gain Health = A different way of “healing” only achievable by enchantments. Gain health does not count as “healing” even if it has the same effect of healing you.

So when you have an enchantment that says “Increase X amount of healing”, this doesn’t apply to the health you GAIN when using an enchantment like “Gain X amount of health after parry-block-dodge or charge attack”.

To improve your health gained with these kind of enchantments you need to use a enchantment like “Regainable health increased by X amount”.

VERY confusing and frustrating. English is not my native lenguage but I am proeficient with it. Maybe I am confusing things?

But, overall I believe that it could be much more clearer.

Why “gain health” it’s different from “healing”. Then I thought that it was giving me more health, but there are also enchantments like “Health increased by X” AND also “Max health increased by X”.

So this would ve very confusing specially for new players, plase change words and improve or explain better the descriptions.
Since gain health is a synonym of healing, any idea to avoid ambiguation with these inequivalent enchantments?

Or maybe am I missing something and my tests were wrong?

Gain health is influenced by healing. “regainable health” is something completely different (after you take damage, it’s the yellow-ish fragment on your hp bar that you can regain after attacking).

Are you sure? I didn’t knew about this mechanic, reading about it but I never played Bloodborne so no idea how it works. It should be in the tutorial-prologue.

I have a “Gain health after charge attack” enchantment, but it seems that my other “Increase healing” enchantments don’t improve the healing. Maybe it’s a very little ammount or a bug, I will double check.

Have you use this gain health enchantments combined with increase healing? Did it worked for you?

At least for both 2x gain 6% HP on parries (on gloves and shields). That value gets properly boosted by healing bonuses on gear.

Haven’t used the bonus you are using, so can’t really comment about that one in practice.

If you need lifesteal you need at least one lifesteal gem in your weapon or shield otherwise increased healing will not affect it as your lifesteal value is set to 0.

It’s different from lifesteal, that depends on how much damage you successfully did and hinge on the armor of the enemy and also DoT or elemental magic if the case. But with these runes you gain X health if landed a successfully charged attack, dodge, parry or block unrelated to the stats or enemy specs.
