Frequent Disconnects and De-Syncing in Co-op

im also having this issue in north america

Followup, when im playing with my freind, the desyncs make the game functionally unplayable for us, happening every 1-5 minutes. reinstalling the game prevents the issue from happing for 20 minutes to an hour but it always comes back. hope this gets fixed soon

Hey Silas any update on troubleshooting that bug?

Hey man,

Here is a possible fix:

  • Share your Realm
  • Invite someone, have them walk around and see if everything works for them
  • Then join yourself (you potentially need to let them leave first)
  • (if you need someone to help you out, I can also join your Realm)

Let me know the result!

Please try these options, even though they are lukewarm, they actually have helped people.

  1. Have everyone leave for a few seconds and rejoin (switch who joins first and then let others join)
  2. make your realm Private and Share again. Repeat this perhaps 3 times. Someone reported this solved their issues. (you can safely kick players, everything will be there if you re-invite)
  3. Try connecting with a VPN, change your Realm’s server location or perhaps look into tunnel software like zerotier

Also troubleshoot yourself if you can! I welcome all good ideas at this point, let us know if something worked for you

Ok I’ll try that out I bought the game for a couple of my buddies while it was on sale so I’ll see if they’ll try to help me out

Just had my buddy join my realm. Everything was playing fine for him. I had him go to the area I was at for the crash (the sewers) and his game immediately crashed. So it’s not a save error or hardware error, it seems like something in that area is causing the crash

Any mods you guys have installed in-between?

Silas

I agree, nice to have that ruled out at least.

Are you playing on controller or kbm?

Any mods installed?

I’ve escalated this already btw, so it’s at least in official hands

edit: your submitted video isn’t playing for me anymore, could you check it out?

I made a breakthrough today with my Session Error - Exception (4) errors.

So, I have a Gaming PC and a Streaming/NAS PC. Both are connected via LAN to share files, and the Streaming/NAS PC is connected via Voicemeeter to transmit audio from the S/NAS PC to the Gaming PC, and vice versa.

If any other device (i.e., my GF’s PC or my phone) plays Youtube videos, then the gaming PC can play online in NRftW just fine. However, if the S/NAS PC plays YouTube videos, then BAM. Exception (4) errors relentlessly. If I simply PAUSE the YouTube video on the specific S/NAS PC, then all is well again.

Very perplexing. Especially since I can have Twitch streams playing on the S/NAS PC and NRftW will play online just fine. It appears to only happen specifically when YouTube is playing.

Edit: No mods installed.

Compressed .rar file of the logs and data folder.

Issues like this are what make me hesitant to work in the IT industry lol.

Like, what an odd issue to have. I guess I’ll chalk it up to me finally have an issue with Windows 11 while the rest of the internet rips on the OS for other issues.

Ok awesome. I am using a controller and I don’t have any mods installed

Yeah let me take a look at the video, idk why it won’t work that’s strange

Edit: For some reason google docs isn’t working when i try to share the link to this forum, it worked fine earlier so idk what the problem is now. I edited my first post to include a link of the original video recorded from steam but the link apparently will expire in two days so I’ll try to figure something else out

Edit: Sorry it took me awhile to finally post the video again. I posted it to reddit then linked that post to my original post here in the forum

I have been playing the game with my wife for about 10+ hours in her Shared Realm. We had some connectivity issues such as I wouldn’t be able to join the realm if she was in it so she has to leave the realm first so I could join (The error was [Attempting to Connect > Connection Lost > Back to Main Menu]). Or at least that’s how it went until yesterday. Today when I tried joining her Realm as usual, it wouldn’t let me join, the Connection Lost error was persistent. So I tried looking up solutions online and have tried these steps but nothing worked out;

  • Reinstalling the game
  • Verifying the game files
  • Private network, Network Reset, FlushDNS, Date/Time sync
  • Used VPN and have tried all servers
  • I created a new character and was able to join the Shared Realm once, but unable to after few more tries.
  • I left her Realm and created my own Local Realm, worked out fine. Changed the Realm to Shared and invite her, she could join, but when i tried to join back to my own Shared Realm, the usual Connection Lost error is back.

Both of us are really looking forward to play the game together as gaming together helps the LDR situation. Please help us fix this. Below is the document as per required. Also fyi; we are playing from Malaysia and using Asia/HongKong server. Im using Ethernet. Im a big fan of your games so im a little bit upset with the constant connection issues (although i understand that it is still in Early Access).
My log: Unique Download Link | WeTransfer (contain videos, Player.log and Player-prev.log, dxdiag)

Update: So i dont know if this will help the issue, but my wife tried using my account from her laptop and she could enter the Shared Realm without any issue. Fyi, my wife is in Malaysia as well but she is using Wifi instead. (Im using Ethernet, im unable to use Wifi as my motherboard doesnt have Wifi)

Hey thatwasezie,

Can you take a look at this topic I moved your post in?

Also there are some verified issues with playing from the same IP address, this might fall into that category.

Silas

Hey Silas,

I have looked through this topic and have tried other options but I still could not connect my main character to any Shared Realm on my PC. I did tried something else and extra observations;

  • My wife is not living with me. Thus, she’s not using the same IP. She tried logging my account and was able to join the Shared Realm.

  • I downloaded the game on my office laptop and played it through the same Ethernet cable. I was able to join Shared Realm but the graphics is messed up even after I lowered down the graphics and resolution.
