Fishing as is, is the most unbalanced grind activity because it’s a variable amount of time, you can’t determine the tier of fish, and it’s only used for cooking which unless you’re a player who actually cares about keeping up your buffs doesn’t matter.
A lot of JRPGs add a thing to fishing where you can get non-fish-related stuff including gear. If the player had a chance of getting gear from it then its evens out massively. Because every other farming activity lets you craft gear(wood chopping), upgrade it(ore), or straight up gives you it(digging)
