Adding MMO Like Grind for Fishing / Mining / Foraging / Farming / Side Grinding

So I feel like adding a mmo like grind to Fishing / Mining / Farming will be better for Wicked to make players active and engaging in their game

some suggestion -

For Fishing - Adding fishing-specific enchantments / armor / potion /creature

adding a leveling system to all the skills !!

creatures can be fished up with fishing rods on killing they can drop loot ranging from common to unique that includes herbs/weapons /
unique fishing rods. etc

rare creatures chance to spawn rare creatures to get more rare items
rare creature can include a side boss you can activate while fishing

For farming, there is a chance to get rare crops when farming crops. enchantments for farming,
progression system, to farming, and composting systems.

For mining/foraging- adding enchantments on pickaxe, axe
chance to get ingot while mining, chance to get planks when foraging
adding rare items when mining and the chance to get them,
chance to spawn ore cave when mining ores (rare)

It will be better to encourage players to accomplish what they want to do to be at the top of their game in addition to trade and the marketplace.

Enhancing Player Engagement in Wicked with MMO-Style Progression

To make Wicked more active and engaging, introducing MMO-inspired progression systems to Fishing, Mining, and Farming can add depth and excitement. Here are some key suggestions:

:fishing_pole_and_fish: Fishing Enhancements

  • Skill Leveling System – Players can level up their fishing skills, unlocking new perks and abilities.
  • Fishing Enchantments & Gear – Special enchantments for rods, unique fishing armor, and potions to enhance the experience.
  • Fishing Creatures & Loot Drops – Players can fish up creatures that, when defeated, drop loot ranging from common to unique items like herbs, weapons, and rare fishing rods.
  • Rare Creature Encounters – A chance for rare sea creatures to appear, offering greater rewards.
  • Fishing Boss Fights – Rare encounters with powerful side bosses that players can trigger while fishing.

:ear_of_rice: Farming Enhancements

  • Rare Crop Chance – A probability of growing rare crops with unique benefits.
  • Farming Enchantments – Special enchantments for farming tools to boost efficiency.
  • Progression System – Players can advance their farming skills, unlocking new abilities.
  • Composting System – Introduce composting mechanics to improve soil quality and yield.

:pick: Mining & Foraging Enhancements

  • Mining & Foraging Enchantments – Pickaxes and axes can have unique enchantments for efficiency and special effects.
  • Bonus Resource Drops – A chance to obtain ingots while mining and planks while foraging.
  • Rare Resource Drops – A probability of uncovering rare items while mining.
  • Ore Cave Generation – A rare chance for players to discover hidden ore caves while mining, containing valuable resources.

It will be better to encourage players to accomplish what they want to do to be at the top of their game in addition to trade and the marketplace.

:crystal_ball: Future Additions

  1. Fishing Enchantments & Gear – Special enchantments for rods, unique fishing armor, and potions to enhance the experience.

it depends on how fishing is handled

cuz you’ll run into Idle bot farming fish, and using em to get equipment rather than running crucible

  1. For farming, there is a chance to get rare crops when farming crops. enchantments for farming, progression system, to farming, and composting systems.

this is bueno

  1. For mining/foraging- adding enchantments on pickaxe, axe chance to get ingot while mining, chance to get planks when foraging adding rare items when mining and the chance to get them, chance to spawn ore cave when mining ores (rare)

this is nice but also don’t want it to reach WoW/Minecraft lvl of enchanting personally

  1. It will be better to encourage players to accomplish what they want to do to be at the top of their game in addition to trade and the marketplace.

  2. Skill Leveling System – Players can level up their fishing skills, unlocking new perks and abilities.

This is pretty gud, tho depends on how they tackle fishing it might differ later on, and we might run into “make X skill like fishing lvling”

  1. Fishing Enchantments & Gear – Special enchantments for rods, unique fishing armor, and potions to enhance the experience.

Fishing armors is funny armor ye. Special enchantments for rods like? Potions and such is bueno yea

  1. Fishing Boss Fights – Rare encounters with powerful side bosses that players can trigger while fishing.

Similar to that one from Terraria? Duke Fishron?

might be nice tho to have some encounters that needs fishing,an npc that appears after fishing lvl reaches somethin, or some quests that require fishing, just so long it doesn’t become like chores

  1. Farming Enhancements + Mining & Foraging Enhancements

Yes to all save for the enchantment bit, as I mentioned before it borders on becoming a “rolling stats simulator” if it followed that module alot, instead have tiers for the tools similar to stardew valley/harvest moon instead

I have to disagree with OP, people already complain about the grind and you wanna add more stuff to the mechanic, imo the simple approach is better, the problem with MMOs is exactly that, too convoluted.

Some of the suggestions are immersion breaking too, fishes with weapons inside? Really? So i could get a two handed sword from a fish?

Ingots from mining? Nah, that would break the game imo and give too much emphasys to a mechanic that is there just for the sake of progression.

We dont know how farming is gonna work though, might be closer to what you want.

The rare itens from mining already exist right? You can get gems from certain nodes already.

Why did you use AI to write this?

I disagree with adding MMO levels of grinding to those systems, but still. If AI has to write it for you…

The point is if you want players to be active and with 10+ years of commitment you need to engage players to do something, just ending the story is not the solution if you want players and charts to be consistent.

and the progressing is choice
if player want to do fishing, he can progress through fishing and be top of the skill

they are introducing economy , trades and only way to make it better is to do progression system

you are not forced to do these stuff ,you can just buy it from other players, but if you want to make money out of it, then it is for you.

also it is not always about immersion , its about how fun the game is and how much you can do

i used ai to paraphrase these,
above it I wrote it myself !!

Gotta disagree again, why do you wanna a single player RPG to have MMO mechanics that only make sense in a MMO enviroment?

Things like paying for another player to make stuff for you, fish or cook or craft, whatever, this only works on MMOs, here you have 4 player coop, MMOs have thousands of people playing, doesnt make sense to put this here imo.

Progress through fishing? I dont get it, all these activities they are secondary here, you can fish and farm but its not mandatory to progress the game, fighting bosses and advancing the story is, you are there for that, you came to the island to fight the plague not to become the best fisher of Sacrament.

Not everything is about immersion, but throwing immersion out the window just for the sake of fun will completely ruin a game, just put some vendor selling AK47s in Sacrament then, it will be a lot of fun killing monsters with an AK and some grenades.

Idk if I’d call using emojis and bulletpoints is considered paraphrasing. Do what you want, but its kinda lame to use AI to make game suggestions. Better to be original.

This is so depressing to read. Do you really want to be forced to do chores in a game?

read above it !!! ? at the top !

who said you are being forced to do these stuffs ?
if you wanna do it there will be progression to it so you dont feel like you are doing same thing over and over again

Still no. Things like Counterstrike and Dota can remain largely unchanged for literally decades and still be popular. Adding a grind only increases engagement from a corporate perspective, where time spent logged in = engagement. It is detrimental to enjoyment.
