Right now fishing is tedious and not very rewarding. The time to cast and catch seems a bit long.
You can remedy this by making the process more interactive. You can create a mini game where the location of your cast within the fishing spot determines how many fish you retrieve with each cast.
Alternatively, you can introduce fishing traps and nets where the player can set up and revisit to grab fish overtime.

Me personally expecting them to advancing the fishing animation more and turn it in to a mini game in the future too.
And definetely expecting that there will be different baits for different water types as well.
Otherwise imma be dissapointed.
i personally have to disagree here. i absolutely dislike fishing minigames. best example Monster Hunter. its so tedious to mash buttons or do quicktime events etc, for something that is already a chore. don’t get me started on failing a fishing minigame and having to wait all over again for that special fish u want to bite.
the only thing i find a bot odd about fishing here is, that your character casts the lore just somewhere. sometimes even into walls and far away from the fishing spot. that is kind of weird, since the fishing spots are clearly localized, but your lure just miles away from it.

you kinda right I mean the game already consuming fair amount of time so fishing shouldn’t be one of them but the current feeling also missing something I also want skinning tho but not like that mmo type stuff idk I want to feel the world in every details you know
I think if the devs have enough time and money, they can make a game that fits everyone’s liking. Thomas even once said he wanted the game to be a mini-MMO.

Doesn’t need to be a full on minigame. You could have the lure wiggle a bit while you’re waiting for the fish to bite. Maybe even have fish that swim around instead of splashing in one spot. Fishing is just so static right now.
