Is fishing bugged?

Hi guys
Fishing doesn’t feel good at all.
First of all, fishing rod doesn’t seem to improve to a faster fishing, it just takes too long everywhere I try. This one maybe is on me that doesn’t understand the mechanics.

Also, the messages that say something like
“Press Y to fish” or “Press Y to cancel” are changing super fast to it makes fishing unconfortable.
Playing on xbox 360 controller.

Indeed, it’s one of the more common complaints about the game at the moment.

I personally don’t ever fish.
*Preferring instead to just buy fish from my “realm collection” if/when I need to.

Some of the more popular suggestions:

  1. Buy/Craft + Set “traps” (lobster trap)
  2. Fishing Net (toss out and spam/hold gather to reel in)
  3. Mini-game fishing (rhythm based)

IE:

There are those that also wanna see fishing turned into an actual segment of the game. (Think Dredge).
