Feedback after 30 hours (I'm stuck!)

Hello, and thank you for the awesome game!
I can already see a lot of potential here, and I’m excited for what’s to come.

:video_game: My Background

I’ve played a lot of ARPGs (D2LOD is the GOAT, hyped for PoE2), WoW, Metroidvanias, and Soulslike games like Demon’s Souls, Bloodborne, and Elden Ring.

:crossed_swords: Current Status in Game

I’m playing a Melee/Caster hybrid, currently level 20 and stuck at the Riven Twins and the Sewers boss.

  • I can get the Riven Twins to about 50%, but then I run out of meals and die.
  • I don’t have better gear and am grinding hard for food and upgrades, but progress feels blocked.
  • It’s starting to feel not fun anymore to keep dying without knowing what to improve—besides just “git gud.”

:clipboard: General Feedback

:blue_circle: Whispers

  • Let Whispers heal the player.
It would really improve quality of life. Right now, it makes no sense to teleport back to town and sleep. Instead, I just die and pay the repair cost.
  • Teleportation improvements:
I’m not sure about full Whisper-to-Whisper teleporting, but at least let us teleport to major Whispers (maybe one per area). Backtracking is tedious—especially when switching zones to farm.

:world_map: Map

  • Please add a small circular minimap in the top right corner.
  • Even after 30+ hours, I constantly need to open the map just to see where I’m going.

:receipt: User Interface

  • Show character level next to the portrait while playing (currently it’s only visible in menus).
  • Always display Gold / Silver / Bronze in the main UI—not just in the inventory.

:convenience_store: Vendors

  • When buying recipes:
If I already learned the recipe, ask for confirmation:

“You already know this recipe. Buy again anyway?”

  • Bug at Danos menu (Rebuilding Sacrament):
I rebound my PS5 controller’s Triangle button to open the map. But when I press “Contribute All” (also Triangle), it opens the map instead of contributing. This seems like a conflict/bug.
  • Danos Workers cost feels too high early game:
Food is so rare and vital that players won’t spend it for faster building. Either make it cheaper, or have alternative costs (like materials instead of food).

:bed: Beds & Rest System

  • I placed a bed in my house but couldn’t use it to heal at first. The next day it worked. Is there a cooldown or bug?
  • I still don’t understand the “Bonus Rest after 4 hours” mechanic. Could you explain this more clearly?
  • Suggestion: Add better bed upgrades that give buffs.
Example: Resting in a quality bed could give:
    • Full HP & Focus
    • Temporary 10/20/30% bonus HP or shield
    • Buff scales with how long it’s been since last rest (1–3 hours)

:crossed_swords: Combat

  • Grenade-throwing enemies:
They throw too quickly—nearly impossible to dodge for newer players. Either reduce the throw speed or AoE damage.
  • Pig-masked enemy on the mountain (Nameless Path):
This enemy turns and attacks immediately even when I backstab. Please give a brief stagger window for the player to land a few hits when attacking from behind.
  • Meal Limit in Boss Fights:
Add more Meals for B oss fights. I think right now its 6 Meals per Boss. make it 8. just add a little or get rid of that limitation. (but I do understand why it is here)

:diamond_with_a_dot: Items & Runes

  • Let us rearrange Runes/Spells to control which buttons they’re bound to.
  • Add tooltips or descriptions when buying or equipping spells and runes.
I have no idea what some of them do (e.g. Plague Infusion, Scream) unless I try them. Tooltips would help a lot!

Thank you again for this amazing game. It’s already so fun and unique, and I really hope some of this feedback helps polish things even more. Looking forward to future updates!

when I used the “Return” Rune, it was the first time I had an ARPG Feeling in this game. Because I went to a location, killed the mobs and TP back home instantly.
But for the sake of the pace of the game, whispers should always teleport you back in town, and only from there you can choose where else to go. would fit the game s pace more.

It does really increase the game speed and makes it more enjoyable, because after the tenth time walking through all the levels it gets tedious.

And I do also love the idea, that you actually need a Rune for it, because then you will end up creating a magic wand with 4 runeslots with Teleport, Heal, Channel, Repair. The Utility Stick. I like the idea.

Bed should not refill Focus because you can Repair with Focus. So it would be a free repair.
