So me and my friends started on a hard world and we’re having a fun time with the increased challenge, but my friends have stopped playing because the fallen ember drop rate is abysmal. I don’t know if its mega tuned down because of co-op or hardmode but they’re having no fun not being able to make builds in that mode and I miss the challenge.

I am having the same problem, abysmal drop rate for ALL embers. I am not sure if it’s because I have completed the storyline in my realm or is it the hardest difficulty.
As I always say, I do not understand this design philosophy. Why am I, an invested player who wants to progress and moved to finish the story, rewarded with worse loot?
