I had a chance to dig through the game files, and took the oportunity to get a closer look at some of the enemy designs, since you don’t really get a clear picture of them in-game, what with the top down perspective and blurry anti-aliasing. And there are some pretty cool and gruesome details that are easily missed while playing. It’s pretty grotesque for such a cute looking game.
Now unfortunately, I couldn’t be assed to re-link the textures in a 3D software, but the models are detailed enough even without them. There were also some unused enemies in the game files that will probably appear in future updates, but it didn’t seem right to ruin the surprise by posting images of them. So here are some of the classic ones:
I always thought these were just big mosquitoes, never crossed my mind they were mutated rabbits.
Would be cool if the devs added some sort of model viewer in the future like the one Resident Evil 8 has, would allow us to better appreciate the talent of the 3D artists.
oh wow that is cool. i didnt see any of the things you pointed out here in the game indeed.
a journal or sth with enemies would be cool yeah. like not necessary but it would definitely give more appreciation for the artists like you said, which im always for, cause the game is so beautifully designed and the artstyle is fantastic imo.
like you could add those where the recipes for everything is, just one more tab for already encountered types of enemies or sth like that.
i always like it when games let players have access to a beastiary. let us view the enemy model up close.
tbh it lets me appreciate them so much more.
tho i do understand why sometimes devs dont want this as they dont want players to find out modelling shortcuts they made that usually dont get noticed unless people pay a lot of attention.
a cool example of this is in super mario the cloud sprite is reused and recoloured to become a bush sprite. its obvious once you pay attention but if you just play the game you might not even care to realize.
