in the discord, we found a bunch of poor implementations and/or oversights involving elemental damage and innates.
- gems that give elemental damage dont actually give the status effect. i filled an enemy with at least 50 ice arrows via chipped sapphire, and it didn’t freeze them. same thing with ruby, quartz, amethyst, so on.
- the exact same thing happens with [element type] damage increased% as well as runes that add elemental damage to your weapon.
- weapons that have innate elemental damage (spirit edge, false truth, stag of embers) DO give the proper status effect for their element. however, theres a few oversights. let me point out all i know of:

spirit edge:
charged attacks dont deal ice damage.
backstabs dont deal ice damage.
physical runes do not deal ice damage besides evasive strike.
cold bonuses like chipped sapphire do not affect normal hits. -
false truth:
backstabs dont deal plague damage.
certain normal attacks dont deal plague damage. better to see which attacks im talking about for yourself. if a damage number is white, then that attack didnt deal plague. -
stag of embers:
we haven’t tested this one, but im going to go ahead and assume it has some issues too. i’ll be testing it when i can.
