Echo Knight's Ravage the Earth AOE attack is now broken?

Is it only me or the Ravage the Earth AOE attack from the Echo Knight in the Crucible is now unfairly broken?
Seems to me that the damage for hit has significantly increased (didn’t check the damage numbers so I’m not really sure) and you can only afford to take one of the three AOE attacks… or you have to make a build for a very high Vitality I guess?
Also, the teleport has… “broken” the attack itself making it very difficult to dodge: before this rework, and after I memorized the attack pattern, Ravage the Earth was easy to deal with, now is simply unfair and ruins entire runs for my experience.

You can easily avoid all 3 hits; it’s a rhythm game. lisen closely, there is a sound effect that plays right before he teleports and hits you, once you got the timing down (make a couple runs not with the objective of killing him but to learn the timing, don’t care about dying) for when the hit actually happens, evading would be a piece of cake.

Also stay still, trying to attack or move away just messes up with your ability to time it correctly.

i havent fought echo knight much after breach, but i didnt like that new attack because it just felt janky. the timing of his explosion just seemed to be very varied and buggy, sometimes hed explode instantly as he teleports instead of taking a moment before it

@Hanov my problem is precisely that it just feels inconsistent. on paper thats what should usually happen but then sometimes he does it in an instant, sometimes he just weirdly lags and takes a moment longer after the teleport

i dont know if its caused by attack speed debuffs or hitting him during that attack or anything of the sort

But isn’t the third impulse faster than the other two? Is it just me who noticed?

Yeah, seems a bit buggy to me too. Maybe there’s a subtle fps drop when he launches the impulse + teleport and this drop affects the dodge input of the player? I guess?

Could be a performance issue maybe? I run the game capped at 60FPS and tbh I feel the teleports and hit time very consistent.
Also I am very bad at skill based games, this is the first one I play and im 40yrs old so my reflexes are definetly not top notch, so If I can do it you definitely can, if you still feel like is not consistent, try to stay still, or maybe check your FPS if its all over the place that’s probably the reason for it to feel weird.

Yeah windup can change but the timing after the sound effect, teleport and real hit is the same.

As long as you stay still lisen and watch closely its easy to avoid all 3 hits. Just a matter of practice or inconsistent FPS if you find the timing to be inconsistent.

i dunno, im usually fluctuating 150-100

50 FPS difference is a lot of fluctuation, try capping your game at 90 fps maybe? so its guaranteed that you will get stable FPS.

Hope that helps you solve the annoying variance you are experimenting.

Dodge twice for the third attack, the same timing as the first two and you’ll iframe it.

Use sound as a clue when to dodge.
