Dodge Control in light weight equipment

Please add a control mechanism for dodging in light weight equipment. Its so annoying to dodge in tight spaces with multiple enemies when you have two uncontrollable animation type for dodging.

What do you mean?

While evading, you either move forward to close the distance or you evade to the side, if you evade backwards you are leaving yourself open to attacks?

Evading backwards is usually used when spacing attacks.

I might’ve misunderstood what you meant..

Also please explain what you meant with “control mechanism” ?

By this I meant is when you have light equipment you get two types of animation when you dodge.

The 1st one is short but great for enclosed spaces or avoiding attacks then attacking again because of its short animation this is even great sometimes cause bosses has a short window of cooldown when attacking.

The 2nd one is great for closing the gap for offense, backing off grouped enemies or better yet backing the f off boss aoe attacks like the Marin Boss staff slam buts not so great when you are in an enclosed area and one wrong move you fall to your death.

If you can control how these two types of animation triggers it would be another great addition to the game combat system.

I forgot by “control mechanism” is to have it trigger to you when you like it like shifting makes you run if they can add it to the control system it would be amazing. I would even preferred for them to have it trigger when you shift and space in keyboards than getting having it trigger always randomly when you have full stamina.

I assume you claim there are two animations for quickstep, and that the game ‘randomly’ picks one or the other, giving you no control over your dodge distance. By control mechanism, I assume you mean separate key bindings. Is this correct?

Could this be an issue with double dodges? Since you mention the Shift key, you likely use mouse and keyboard. Does the following video depict the two types (long, then short) of quickstep animation?

Due to a known bug, both of these (the double dodge, then the single dodge) can be triggered with a single press of the space bar each. You’ll perform a double dodge if you release the space bar within 180 to 230 ms of pressing it, and a single dodge otherwise; see here. This felt ‘random’ to many people.

If this is not it, could you please create a recording of the two distinct quickstep animations?

Yes this is it. Haha 170ms to 230ms feels so random. If they can just add a control binding like you did in that thread it would be great.

Thanks
